NJPW G1 Climax 34: First playoff match set, final A Block standings

G1 Climax 34 continued on Monday with the last night of A Block round-robin action in Nagaoka. Zack Sabre Jr. went into today’s show having already clinched the top spot in the group. He receives a bye to the tournament semifinals. He beat SANADA on today’s show to finish the round-robin with 14 points and a 7-2 record. Shingo Takagi and Great-O-Khan are the other two wrestlers to advance out of the group. They will meet in a quarterfinal match on Thursday. They finished tied with EVIL and Tetsuya Naito with 5-4 records and 10 points. The tie-breaker in that scenario is the head-to-head records of all tied competitors. Takagi advances out of the group as the second seed due to his 3-0 round-robin record against the other tied wrestlers. He beat Naito, EVIL, and O-Khan in the round-robin. O-Khan advances as a result of his 2-1 round-robin record over the other tied wrestlers. He had round-robin wins over Naito and EVIL.
