WWE livestreamed NXT Stand & Deliver on YouTube this past Saturday. The event featured main title changes on both the men’s and women’s sides, along with several unresolved rivalries. Stand & Deliver was clearly just the beginning, as the superstars who were on the losing end were out for revenge on the following NXT episode.

Tony D’Angelo Promo Ended In Bedlam

The night started with a promo from the new NXT Champion, Tony D’Angelo. After the “you deserve it” chants died down, D’Angelo reminded everyone that he was the first-ever NXT Grand Slam and stated that he has an iron grip on the title. D’Angelo followed that statement by saying no man can take the belt from him, including his opponents from Saturday, Ethan Page, Ricky Saints, and Joe Hendry. As usual, after saying Hendry’s name, he appeared.

Not long after Hendry appeared, Page and Saints would do the same. All three men felt they would be the NXT Champion if the other competitors were not involved. As the segment heated up, everything went black, and Dark State (Dion Lennox, Cutler James, Saquon Shugars, and Osiris Griffin) would appear. The four men put aside their differences, at least for the time being, to fight off a larger threat. It took several officials and other talent to separate the competitors. The result was NXT GM, Robert Stone, announcing an eight-man tag team match later in the evening.

Sol Ruca And Zaria: Unfinished Business

The Sol Ruca and Zaria rivalry may just be getting started. Ruca defeated Zaria in a singles competition and Stand & Deliver, so Zaria decided to get a bit of revenge the following Tuesday. During Ruca’s match against Izzi Dame, Zaria would emerge from the crowd and hit her former friend with a devastating spear.

The referee was busy dealing with a distraction from The Culling, so the attack went unnoticed. Dame would take advantage and steal a pinfall over Ruca. This result led to a Last Woman Standing match between Ruca and Zaria next week.

The Eight-Man Tag Match

The tag match that resulted from the opening segment chaos went as expected. D’Angelo, Page, Saints, and Hendry struggled to get on the same page, and Dark State was able to take advantage multiple times. The four men who competed against each other for the NXT Championship coexisted at times, but eventually imploded.

While D’Angelo was preparing to finish Shugars, Page tagged himself in, kicked D’Angelo in the face, delivered his finisher to Shugars, and got the pinfall. The new NXT Champion recovered and hit Page with a Spine Buster.

The angry D’Angelo talked to Stone later and demanded a match with Page. D’Angelo and Page will face off next week for the title. Perhaps this was the plan all along from Page.

Lola Vice Promo Interrupted

The last segment of the evening featured the new NXT Women’s Champion, Lola Vice. She defeated Jacy Jayne and Kendal Grey at Stand & Deliver in triple threat action. The new champion received her “you deserve it” chants as well before discussing her journey to the top of the division. Vice thought she would immediately become a star after being signed in 2022, but that was far from true.

I thought I was going to get here and go straight to the top, but instead, I got humbled. I took L’s. I basically became a wipeout again and started from scratch.

The journey was well worth it. Vice went to AAA for the experience she needed and is now ready for the moment. Vice City, as she stated, is worldwide now. The woman who was known as the MMA girl is now a WWE star.

The former champ, Jayne, would now make her way to the ring along with the rest of Fatal Influence, Fallon Henley, and Lainey Reid. Jayne and Reid basically gave speeches about how great Jayne was as the champion, but no one cared, as they received boos throughout the segment. Jayne demanded a rematch for the NXT Women’s Championship, which Stone granted, after making his way down the ramp.

Fatal Influence then attacked Vice, but she was able to fend off all three women. The night would end with Vice standing tall, holding both her NXT and AAA mixed tag team belts up high.

End Of My WWE NXT Rant

The night also featured the continuation of other unresolved conflicts. Tatum Paxley and Blake Monroe are still at it and will probably face off again soon. Myles Borne also got some payback on Lennox, who attacked him at Stand & Deliver. Both the men’s and women’s North American titles could be on the line next week, but we shall see.

What is official at NXT Revenge next Tuesday is two NXT Championship matches, the Last Woman Standing battle, and the official debut of Kali Armstrong. She was the first-ever WWE Evolve Women’s Champion, and the former USC track and field star could be in the title picture on NXT before we know it.

Revenge should be exciting. Some of the NXT’s biggest stars recently moved to the main roster, but the newer crop of talent looks ready to seize their opportunities.
