  • Rey Mysterio suffered a torn abductor before WrestleMania 41, leading to his replacement in the match.
  • Mysterio is undergoing surgery to repair the torn abductor, with a typical healing time of 12-16 weeks.
  • Throughout his wrestling career, Mysterio has had injuries, primarily affecting his knees and biceps, but has used stem cell treatment for relief.

WrestleMania 41 was going to see a match between Rey Mysterio and El Grande Americano, but plans would change shortly before the event. Mysterio seemed to suffer an injury on the episode of SmackDown before WrestleMania during a match where he teamed with Rey Fenix and Dragon Lee to face off against American Made.

Rey Fenix would then be announced as Mysterio's replacement for the WrestleMania match, with Americano scoring the victory at the event. This would have marked Mysterio's 13th WrestleMania match and his fourth in a row since WrestleMania 38.

Rey Mysterio Suffered A Torn Abductor

Rey Mysterio would post on his Instagram story that he is officially going into surgery to repair a torn abductor. The body has plenty of abductors in it, and Mysterio doesn't exactly confirm where the injury is, but most of them are found in areas like the hands, wrists, shoulders, hips, and feet.

Hopefully, the surgery goes well and Mysterio is able to come back sooner rather than later. The typical abductor injury comes with a healing time of about 12–16 weeks before resuming normal activity.

Rey Mysterio has been wrestling since 1989 with not much off time in that multi-decade career. Now being in his 50s and having that history of competing in his life, it is no wonder that Mysterio has sadly seen more than a few injuries. Most of the problems for Rey have been with his knee, seeing multiple major injuries since 1997.

He has also had a few biceps injuries in the past. Last year, Mysterio talked about his work with stem cell treatment and how it has made him feel pain-free for the first time in quite a while.
