Ric Flair has been a pretty outspoken guy his entire career. That hasn't stopped, even though he's well into his 70s and doesn't wrestle anymore, claiming this week that he wasn't allowed to attend WrestleMania because he threatened to beat up Ludwig Kaiser.
The somewhat shocking reveal came when Flair called into The Ariel Helwani Show this week. The Nature Boy went on a rant about why he wasn't invited to attend WrestleMania. Although this year's 'Mania has only just passed, the events Flair describes imply he's referencing WrestleMania 41, although it's possible the alleged ban was in place for both shows.
As for why Flair claims he wasn't welcome at WrestleMania, and presumably all WWE events, it stems from him threatening current WWE Superstar, Kaiser. "I threatened to beat up Tiffany Stratton’s husband last year, and I wasn’t allowed to go. A 24-year-old kid being threatened by a 76-year-old man, and I can’t go to WrestleMania. Are you kidding me?" Flair told Helwani. Kaiser is 35 years old, and he is no longer in a relationship with Stratton, although they were never married.
Flair threatened Kaiser after he got involved in Charlotte and Stratton's feud via social media. Charlotte claimed Kaiser was in her DMs, to which Kaiser told Charlotte not to flatter herself. It seems that was enough to trigger Flair, as, according to his recollection of events this week, that was what prompted him to threaten the German Superstar.
"I went, okay, I need your number. I got it, which I can get anybody’s number I want any minute of any day. And I called him. I said, ‘Hey, when I see you, I’m gonna beat the sh*t out of you.' So he went like a little b*tch, told Hunter, and I wasn’t allowed to go."
While Flair is clearly talking about the right person, I'm inclined to believe he could walk past Kaiser backstage and have no idea who he is. He doesn't know how old he is, he's unaware of his marital status with Stratton, and while speaking with Helwani, Naitch referred to him as "that English kid". Kaiser is not only German, but he is currently cosplaying as a Mexican luchador.
Furthermore, Flair is completely unaware of what Kaiser is up to at the moment. He asks Helwani if he's still employed by WWE, adding that he probably won't be by this time next year. Hearding him praise El Grande Americano later in the interview would have been the icing on the cake, but unfortunately, that didn't happen.
