Another day, another wrestling legend making a fool of themselves. Ric Flair has ignited a firestorm of controversy following a series of provocative social media posts that have drawn sharp criticism from fans and fellow wrestlers alike. After having made some inappropriate comments about Jim Ross and his health battles, Flair rightfully received some backlash, followed by his latest rant, where he lashed out on social media.
Ric Flair's latest outburst comes in the wake of backlash over a now-deleted tweet in which Flair referred to fellow wrestling icon Jim Ross, who is currently battling colon cancer, as an "attention seeker." The comment was met with widespread condemnation, prompting Flair to backpedal and claim that "everyone takes things too seriously."
Adding fuel to the fire, wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell criticized Flair on his podcast, urging him to "shut up" while throwing insults. In response, Flair posted a message addressing Mantell in a passive-aggressive way, insinuating Dutch was ill :
Dutch, everyone is always going to think of you as a veteran that’s not allowed to have an opinion. But I sympathize with your health issues, and hope you recover & return to top health. You have always been a good guy. The anger you pour out at everybody is clearly coming from the pain you feel. Please stay strong!
That wasn't enough for The Nature Boy. The 76-year-old WWE Hall Of Famer took to X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram to lash out at his detractors:
I Try To Be Nice To Everybody. God Only Knows That I’ve Spent More Money On Spilt Liquor In One Year Than People Have In A Lifetime. I Tried Being Nice, And This Is My Last Message To Everyone. I’ve Got More Money Than I’ve Got Time. Go F Yourself Haters. No Comment Needed. Live…— Ric Flair® (@RicFlairNatrBoy) June 4, 2025
Some things never change. Instead of offering any sort of apology, or acknowledging what he said, he doubled down with a rant talking about his wealth while addressing his supposed "haters."
Stevie Richards offered his two cents as well, calling Flair a narcissist:
You can’t feel sorry for someone who shows no empathy. Ric Flair has no compassion. He’s a narcissist—he always has been. He thrives on attention, even if it’s negative, just to keep his name out there.
It's a shame that even in his old age, Flair continues to stir the pot, especially at the expense of a sick Jim Ross. It seems as though Stevie Richards has a point, with these old legends (see Hogan, Hulk) trying to stay relevant, through any means necessary.

Now that the 2025 WWE SummerSlam PLE is finished, up next is the global event, Clash In Paris. The PLE is sent for Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the Paris La Défense Arena. It already seems that the card is shaping up just hours after night 2 of SummerSlam, because one star, Stephanie Vaquer, knows who she wants to face. Unlike SummerSlam, this former NXT Women's Champion won't be missing Clash in Paris. Who Is Stephanie Vaquer’s Opponent? It was on July 13 at the WWE Evolution PLE, where Vaquer won the Battle Royal, earning a number one contendership for the Women's World Championship at Clash In Paris. Vaquer has made it known on social media that she has her sights set on Naomi and the WWE Women's Championship. Now she wants Naomi to focus her attention on "La Primera." “Naomi, congratulations, you just won a free pass to hell because, in Paris, you’re going to face La Primera, and I’m going to become the new champion. Naomi retained the WWE Women’s Championship against Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY during night 2 of SummerSlam. She won the Triple Threat Match by a rollup pin. In a heel move, after Ripley hit IYO SKY with a Riptide, Naomi was quick to roll up Ripley from behind and hold onto her tights to secure the pinfall. For now, though, Ripley is going to have to wait to get her revenge. Naomi Has An Intense Battle Ahead Of Her Now the two, for the first time, will be in the ring, and it’s a safe bet to say that Vaquer might just be Naomi’s hardest opponent. Even before making her WWE debut on the September 24, 2024, episode of WWE NXT, Vaquer was already known for her intense in-ring style and being a dominant force in the industry. Some of her career highlights include the CMLL World Women’s Championship as well as holding the promotion’s first Women’s Tag Team Titles with CMLL star Zeuxis. It’s worth mentioning that Zeuxis was part of the 2018 Mae Young Classic. Vaquer is also a former NJPW Strong Women’s Champion. Her title reign ended after losing to AEW star Mercedes Mone at the 2024 AEW/NJPW Forbidden Door event. Mone is, of course, known to WWE fans as Sasha Banks. She has a connection to Vaquer’s upcoming opponent. Mone notably held the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles with Naomi before both of them abruptly left the company. Anyway, with Naomi’s current mean streak, she can’t be counted out just yet. Vaquer might have to proceed with caution. As recently noted, Naomi just received praise from WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H for being the most “improved” wrestler on the roster. Like her future opponent, she also showed her brutality at the Evolution PLE. Naomi won against Jade Cargill in a No-Holds-Barred Match. Later in the show, she became the new Women's Champion after cashing in her MITB case.
The New York Jets opted to cut Aaron Rodgers and sign Justin Fields to replace him during the offseason. This kind of commitment to Fields should bolster his confidence, but it could also place a lot of pressure on his shoulders. To this point, Fields has looked solid in training camp, aside from a scary toe injury that was quickly resolved in July. Justin Fried of the Jet Press recently reported that Fields' training camp may have reached a new low over the weekend as the young signal caller struggled. "Justin Fields put together his best practice of the summer to this point on Friday, completing his first 12 passes en route to an excellent all-around performance. The same can't be said about his showing on Saturday, however," Fried wrote. "Fields finished the day an abysmal 2-of-10 in the air, including a drop from rookie tight end Mason Taylor. "Some of his incompletions were catchable balls, but the Jets' passing game struggles on Saturday can largely be blamed on No. 7. Fields did flash his running ability with a 25-yard rushing score on the first play of red-zone drills, but the Jets would like to see more consistency in the air from the starting quarterback. Saturday's scrimmage was far from his best showing of the summer." Fields is a runner first at the NFL level, but his arm is nothing to scoff at. For most of training camp, his arm talent has been better than advertised, but during Saturday's scrimmage, it just wasn't there. A 2 for 10 performance is unacceptable for a $40 million quarterback who was signed to take over the team. The running game should open up the passing game for the Jets, which is going to need to be the case if Fields is going to struggle like this. However, it's just one day of camp. It's nothing to be too concerned about. Just because Fields lost this specific practice doesn't mean he's heading in the wrong direction as a whole.
The World Junior Showcase showed the dominance of multiple Montreal Canadiens prospects this past week. After discussing Koivu’s play in the mini tournament earlier today, it is now time for a discussion on the 21st overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, Michael Hage. Much like his Finnish counterpart, the Canadian forward Hage stood out from his teammates throughout the showcase. Hage, who is arguably a top 3 prospect within the Montreal Canadiens pipeline, put on a show that should help him secure a role within Canada’s 2026 World Juniors team. The fact that he proved to be one of the best players for Canada this past week shows that not even getting an invite to the team’s final selection camp, despite a very strong freshman season at the University of Michigan, seemed silly, as even last year, he likely should have had a shot at making the team. Now that he managed to score a goal in all 4 games that he played for Canada at the World Juniors Showcase, there is almost no way that Canada can leave him off the roster. One of the most memorable moments throughout the whole tournament for Hage was definitely when he was in a scrum, mixing it up with his former Canadiens Development camp roommate, Aatos Koivu, as previously mentioned in my article from earlier today. Another amazing moment in that game was Hage’s goal, where he completely deked around the Finland goalie to put the puck in the net. It will be interesting to see where in the Canada lineup Hage will land, as a lot of notable names such as Michael Misa, Beckett Sennecke, and Tij Iginla did not play at the showcase. The good news is that the first two names may end up playing in the NHL, allowing a spot higher in the lineup for Hage. Another thing that will work well in Hage’s favour is that he is very versatile and can play on the wing or at centre for Canada. His coach even praised his “hard skills” for Canada during those four games he played. After watching Hage’s play over the last year, one thing is clear: he could be a play driver on whatever line he plays on for Canada. His game also seems like it will translate well at the pro level. Many may say that Hage must play a top 6 role for Canada, but the fact that he can play an aggressive style and has a strong defensive game could mean that he is also able to play in a bottom-six role if need be. The truth is it would be unlikely he would have to be on the bottom 6, but if the guys mentioned above aren’t in the NHL and are instead on the team, there is a chance that it could happen. This upcoming season with the Michigan Wolverines should be a big one where Hage could find his way in the Hobey Baker conversation if he improves on his 13 goals and 34 points in 33 games. The first half of the season will be telling for his place with Hockey Canada, whereas the 2nd half could also help him earn some time at the pro level. The way Hage has played since being drafted, it feels more like it’s more about when he’ll play for the Canadiens in a regular-season game, rather than if he will. Will Hage prove that he’s ready to play at the pro level this year at Michigan?
The Washington Commanders have Super Bowl intentions for the 2025 NFL season, and OC Kliff Kingsbury believes fans will see even more from certain players in the year ahead. Kliff Kingsbury, who has head coaching experience in the NFL, returned as an offensive coordinator in 2024. He was hired as the offensive coordinator entrusted with rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, and the results were sensational. With Daniels’ help, Kingsbury built one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL, and the Commanders may have even more depth than many are anticipating. Kingsbury praises Luke McCaffrey for development ahead of 2025 season The Washington Commanders were electric in 2024. Jayden Daniels threw for 3,568 passing yards and 25 touchdowns, while rushing for another 891 yards and six TDs on the ground. Terry McLaurin led the team in receiving yards and touchdowns, totaling 1,096 yards and a career-high 13 scores. Beyond that, the team had a lot of contributing pass catchers, including veteran tight end Zach Ertz, and receivers Olamide Zaccheus, Noah Brown, and Dyami Brown. Zaccheus and Dyami Brown both took deals to play elsewhere in free agency, so the Commanders replenished the room with the trade for Deebo Samuel, and the additions of both veteran Michael Gallup and fourth-round rookie Jaylin Lane. However, one name that has flown under the radar as he enters his second season in the league is 2024 third-round pick Luke McCaffrey. McCaffrey, who is the younger brother of San Francisco 49ers running back and NFL star Christian McCaffrey, is hoping to make a bigger impression in 2025. Kliff Kingsbury talked about his development this week, saying: “Luke’s come a long way from last year this time to now. Just the confidence, we’re playing him outside a lot for necessity … he’s definitely night and day difference from what he was last year this time.” Kingsbury also talked about the ‘worst case scenario’ with Terry McLaurin, if he did get hurt or wasn’t with the team for any reason in 2025. He said they were navigating who would play on the outside, and that’s one of the reasons they’ve been getting McCaffrey reps out there during training camp. Terry McLaurin’s trade request is allowing younger receivers reps with starting offense Terry McLaurin is a true professional, and when his contract situation finally gets resolved there is very little doubt that he’ll return to form immediately. That said, in his absence there are players like Luke McCaffrey who are seeing a lot more reps. Kingsbury talked through the potential personnel groups without McLaurin on the field, and it sounds like McCaffrey is proving he can be trusted as an X receiver, as well as playing out of the slot. In 2024, the third-round pick ran 76% of his reps out of the slot, but if the team knows they can also count on him at the X, he may see more playing time in 2025. McCaffrey finished his rookie season with 18 catches for 168 yards and will now be competing for reps this season with rookie Jaylin Lane and other depth pieces within the Commanders’ offense.
