Roman Reigns has acknowledged Ric Flair as a superior wrestler, and the WWE Hall of Famer has thanked the former Undisputed WWE Champion for the "biggest compliment". Reigns played a game of 'The Better Wrestler Stays On, which pitted several wrestlers against him.
Fanatics posted a clip of Reigns playing the game as he signed autographs, and he confidently told the interviewer beforehand, "Just keep talking."
Bronson Reed, Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, Cody Rhodes, LA Knight, and Drew McIntyre were all snubbed by Reigns. But once Flair's name was read out he paused and admitted: "Ric Flair."
Reigns' acknowledgement didn't go unnoticed by The Nature Boy who responded to the WWE star on X. He wrote: "Thank You For The Respect @WWERomanReigns! This Has To Be The Biggest Compliment I’ve Received In Years!"

Flair and Reigns' time in wrestling came in different eras, as Naitch's WWE retirement came in 2008 at WrestleMania 24, four years before The Tribal Chief debuted as part of The Shield on the main roster at Survivor Series.
The 76-year-old is celebrated as one of the best performers in pro wrestling history and his 16 world title record was only just surpassed by John Cena at WrestleMania 41. But Reigns does hold the record of main eventing the Show of Shows and it's one of several achievements the pair have accomplished during their time in the squared circle.
Flair has waxed lyrical about Reigns in the past, particularly his success in becoming the top dog in WWE in the years Cena started taking on a more withdrawn role. The two-time WWE Hall of Famer told the Daily Ticket back in April 2024:
”Roman Reigns. I think Roman is great, but I missed him by 30 years. I’m 75, he’s 38. He’s done a phenomenal job. He’s been the flagship since John [John Cena] left. It’s a big job being the flagship of that company, especially for the men’s division."
Flair spoke highly of Reigns' representation of WWE:
"I think my daughter [Charlotte Flair] is recognized as the flagship for the women’s division even though she’s injured right now. When she comes back, she will tear the joint down like she always does. Roman has done a phenomenal job. I love seeing John come back and be involved. Roman has carried the torch and represented the company very well."
Reigns is now at a stage of his career where he is passing the torch, and he's spoken honestly about retirement in 2027 or 2028. He has already put Bronson Reed over at Crown Jewel and there's every chance he'll do the same for Bron Breakker whom many feel is WWE's next poster boy.
