Roman Reigns' Return on WWE Raw Sets Up Clash in Paris Showdown
Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Roman Reigns made his return to WWE Raw on Monday night, inserting himself into the chaos of an Extreme Rules main event and leaving fans with a major tease for Clash in Paris.

The Tribal Chief made an unexpected appearance in Philadelphia during Jey Uso’s match with Bron Breakker, which quickly turned into a multi-man melee amid pure chaos.

With Bronson Reed interfering on Breakker’s behalf and LA Knight and Seth Rollins escalating the fight, CM Punk emerged to chase Rollins through the crowd even before Reigns graced the stage.

The distraction, however, opened the door for the fan favorite to jump into the brawl from the crowd, spearing Breakker at ringside before landing a Superman Punch on Reed. Reigns then rolled Breakker back into the ring, setting up Uso’s superkick and Uso Splash through a table for the victory.

Roman Reigns-Bronson Reed Tensions Spill Over

After the bell, Reigns turned his attention to Reed, who had repeatedly mocked him in recent weeks. Reed shouted threats about stealing Reigns’ shoes, but the former champion dismissed the jabs.

“I fight for belts, not shoes,” Reigns said, telling Reed he would see him in Paris.

Reed responded with a nod of agreement, signaling the beginnings of an unannounced showdown at the end of the month.

While WWE has not formally confirmed the match, the segment positioned Reigns and Reed on a collision course for Clash in Paris on August 31 at La Défense Arena. This also makes sense considering Reigns' big presence in all of the promotional material for the international event.

Stacked card takes shape for Clash in Paris

The Paris event is already slated to feature a fatal four-way for the World Heavyweight Championship involving Seth Rollins, Jey Uso, LA Knight, and Bron Breakker.

Monday’s Raw also confirmed Sheamus versus Rusev in a Donnybrook match, effectively a no-disqualification bout, following another backstage brawl between the two veterans.

On top of that, John Cena will keep his farewell tour going by facing Logan Paul in Paris, something he's already excited about and anticipating.
