Saraya has announced that she is leaving AEW and appeared in a recent interview to discuss her decision to move on while teasing what comes next in her career. As a popular star in both AEW and WWE, would a return to WWE be on the table? She tweeted on Wednesday:
"It’s mutual! But I loved my time at AEW and I had such a blast with the girls there. It’ll hold a special place in my heart. Tony was a great, AEW was great. I feel so lucky to be apart of this family for a couple years. Here’s to 2025! Wtf am I gonna get myself into now."

Saraya appeared on Busted Open Radio and talked about her decision to leave. Saying she wasn't going to re-sign in September when her contract was up, she talked to Tony Khan and they mutually decided there wasn't really a place for her in AEW any longer. Her goal was to help put over other female talent, and there weren't many more people she could work with.
She also noted that she's got a lot going on in 2025, including a big role in another project she's really excited about.
Saraya didn't seem thrilled with the way her run went in AEW, but she was proud of many of the things she accomplished while she was there. She also noted that her plan it step away from wrestling for a while and get her feet wet in other projects, but this isn't likely the last of her involvement in wrestling. She's hoping to have one more run somewhere that will allow her to do something fans will be really proud of.
It's not clear if she's got a non-compete that runs until a certain time or if she has any desire to jump to another promotion after leaving AEW. However, she didn't rule out one day returning to WWE if there was something worth doing there.
Saraya first gained fame in WWE under the name Paige, debuting in 2011 and becoming the youngest Divas Champion at 21. Her in-ring career was cut short in 2018 due to a neck injury, though she remained with WWE in non-wrestling roles before joining AEW.
Her life story was famously adapted into the 2019 film Fighting With My Family, starring Florence Pugh. Despite some ups and downs in WWE, she was quite popular among the WWE Universe. Whether WWE would like to have her back or she ever chooses to go back to AEW, where she says the door is open, fans will be watching her next steps closely.
