WWE’s biggest annual spectacle of the year, WrestleMania, could be headed to Saudi Arabia in 2027. According to new reports from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The potential move comes amid rumblings that WWE may stage two WrestleMania events in the same year, with one in North America and a second in Saudi.

Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority Chairman, Turki Alalshikh, recently teased the signing of a “giant entertainment event” for 2027. He's taken to social media after mentioning the idea back in 2024, suggesting they were having conversations with WWE about WrestleMania or the Royal Rumble in 2026 or 2027. No official announcement has been made, but there has been talk for months now about taking the company's biggest show of the year outside of North America.
The Kingdom’s interest reportedly goes far beyond merely hosting the show — sources indicate that officials are pushing hard for Hollywood megastar and WWE legend Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to headline the event.
The idea of two WrestleManias in one calendar year won't be met favorably by all fans. With any major attraction, the more it's offered, the less special the attraction becomes. Add to that the issue some fans have with the Saudi and WWE partnership, taking the most important and historic event there would ruffle feathers.
The deal, if it happens, is expected to be the “most lucrative WrestleMania in history,” thanks to Saudi Arabia’s long-term partnership with WWE and their willingness to invest heavily in blockbuster attractions. WWE is no stranger to taking its events there, having produced Crown Jewel and the Greatest Royal Rumble from that region. If Saudi Arabia could land WrestleMania, it would represent a big change in their partnership.
The amount of money WWE stands to make by selling one of its biggest brands to Saudi Arabia is likely a record-breaking number. At the very least, WWE has to be considering it from a financial standpoint. The question then becomes, where does it stop?
Saudi Arabia is not the only international location pitching WWE to bring WrestleMania there. London is emerging as another option, and the two sides have been in discussions about expanding their relationship to include the Showcase of the Immortals.
