John Cena's wrestling career nearing single-digit dates remaining

John Cena's WWE career is winding down.

Beginning on Jan. 4, when RAW debuted on Netflix, Cena committed to one full year with the company before walking away from the squared circle to focus on other pursuits.

Over the last eight months, Cena has given us some memorable moments.

He lost his final Royal Rumble at the last hurdle, getting tossed by Jey Uso. There was the heel turn at Elimination Chamber, where Cena hit Cody Rhodes with a low blow. He won the Undisputed WWE championship in his final WrestleMania appearance.

More recently, Cena put on a show in a street fight, where he lost his title to Rhodes shortly after turning back to a face.

Cena's farewell tour is into its final stages, with all eyes now looking toward his final match and the road he takes to get there.

According to Jeremy Lambert of Fightful, Cena has 11 WWE appearances left before he steps away from the company to embrace retirement. Those dates are:

  • Aug. 22: WWE SmackDown (Dublin, Ireland)
  • Aug. 29: WWE SmackDown (Lyon, France)
  • Aug. 31: WWE Clash in Paris (Paris, France)
  • Sept. 5: WWE SmackDown (Chicago, IL)
  • Sept. 15: WWE Raw (Lowell, MA)
  • Oct. 11: WWE Crown Jewel: Perth (Perth, Australia)
  • Nov. 29: WWE Survivor Series (San Diego, CA)
  • December: Retirement Match

The 48-year-old is slowly inching toward the finish line, and, when he gets there, we may not see him in a WWE ring again.

Whether you're new to professional wrestling or have been watching for decades, or you're pro-AEW or not, now is the time to start tuning into Cena's segments and matches.

In what will feel like the blink of an eye, his career will be consigned to the history books, and that is a massive loss for the wrestling world.
