The October 20th segment of Monday Night Raw aired lived from Sacramento and the show had huge implications for Seth Rollins and the World Heavyweight Championship. For the unversed, Rollins was betrayed by ‘The Vision’ after Bron Breakker took him out with a vicious spear. It was followed by a massive Tsunami by Bronson Reed with the trio of Breakker, Reed and Paul Heyman standing tall to end the show.
General Manager Adam Pearce stood in the ring to open the show. He began to deliver a medical update on Rollins but was interrupted when cameras cut backstage. A large vehicle pulled up in the loading area, and Breakker stepped out, holding the World Heavyweight Championship on his shoulder.
Flanked by Reed and Heyman, the trio made their way through the arena and into the ring. Once The Vision entered, Pearce addressed them directly. He confirmed that Rollins had undergone major surgery following their brutal post-match attack and would be out of action for an extended period.
Because of this, Pearce announced that he was stripping Rollins of the World Heavyweight Title. He explained that a new champion would be crowned at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Salt Lake City. CM Punk had already earned a spot in the title match, while his challenger would be determined later that night in a battle royal in Sacramento.
Pearce then demanded that Breakker return the championship, reminding him that it no longer belonged to Rollins, or to him. Breakker smirked and asked what would happen if he refused. After a brief exchange, and with Heyman stepping in to calm the situation, Breakker mocked Pearce by telling him to ask nicely.
Pearce, trying to maintain order, repeated his request respectfully. Eventually, Breakker handed the title to Heyman, who in turn gave it to Pearce. The General Manager took the belt and left the ring. With Pearce gone, Heyman took the microphone to address the crowd. He questioned why everyone was angry at The Vision, sarcastically acknowledging their role as the bad guys.
Heyman insisted that The Vision had done nothing wrong, claiming that their actions were not about betraying Rollins or Roman Reigns , but about embracing the future. Heyman proclaimed that Bron Breakker represented the future of professional wrestling, while Bronson Reed had already proven himself superior to Reigns.
He mocked Rollins for his injury, calling him a bum shoulder b**ch, and said Rollins could no longer lead the company into the future. Heyman concluded by declaring that winners write history and that The Vision were the ones shaping WWE’s future. He stated that this wasn’t revisionist history, but a reset of what’s to come, officially welcoming everyone to a new era of Monday Night Raw.
With CM Punk on commentary, the battle royal erupted into chaos as multiple Superstars collided. Ivar and Otis traded heavy strikes before Otis dropped the Viking with a powerful lariat. The “Dozer” went on a rampage, hitting a Stinger Splash on Grayson Waller before locking up with Rusev.
The Redeemer gained the upper hand, eliminating Otis and then Akira Tozawa with a crushing big boot. Rusev’s momentum stalled when he clashed with Penta, while Judgment Day eliminated Dragon Lee by throwing him out. On the apron, Rusev and Penta fought for position until Dominik Mysterio seized the moment, eliminating both men as the show cut to commercial.
After the break, Sheamus and Ivar exchanged brutal strikes before the Celtic Warrior delivered a White Noise on the apron to eliminate Ivar. El Grande Americano tried to load his mask, but The Usos hit a 1D and tossed him out. Judgment Day regrouped to target AJ Styles , but Sheamus battled back, eliminating JD McDonagh and Finn Balor with a series of Beats of the Bodhrán.
A furious McDonagh retaliated, helping Balor and Kofi Kingston dump Sheamus to the floor. The action continued as Styles appeared to eliminate Mysterio, but referees missed it, allowing him to sneak back in. When the dust settled, only Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso , Styles, LA Knight , Kingston, and Mysterio remained.
Styles eliminated Kingston mid-springboard, but his comeback was short-lived as he leapt into a double superkick from the Usos, leading to his elimination. Knight mounted an impressive run, countering Styles’ Clash into the Billy Goat’s Curse, but Jey broke it up with a superkick.
In a chaotic sequence, Jey eliminated both Knight and his brother Jimmy at once, leaving only himself and Dominik. The Intercontinental Champion went for a 619, but Jey countered and sent him flying over the ropes to claim victory.
Jey Uso Uso earned his spot in the World Heavyweight Championship bout against Punk at Saturday Night’s Main Event. As Jey celebrated, Jimmy looked on angrily while Punk entered the ring, locking eyes with his next opponent to close the show.
