Team 3D leaves it all in the ring ... literally

Team 3D made its return to a wrestling ring on Sunday. It faced "The Hardy Boys" as part of a tables match on TNA's "Bound For Glory" pay-per-view.

Bully Ray and D-Von Dudley produce a strong match, especially considering how long they've been away from the ring. However, they ultimately fell short, as they failed to secure the TNA and NXT tag team titles from Matt and Jeff Hardy.

After the match had concluded, Bully Ray and D-Von made the shock decision to call time on their illustrious careers. The duo gave their boots to "The Hardy Boys" in the middle of the ring before walking off stage and back toward the locker room.

The decision marks the end for one of wrestling's most dominant tag teams and the duo who popularized the call "get the tables" from their time in WWE.

Team 3D and The Hardy Boys have a long and storied history. They were legitimate rivals during their heyday. The match on Sunday was a fitting way for the duo to end their careers and was genuinely well-received by TNA fans and wrestling enthusiasts across the board.

Bully Ray will likely lean back into his podcast and spot on "Busted Open" radio. He has been a vocal member of the wrestling community in recent years, sharing his thoughts on the happenings at WWE, AEW and TNA.

TNA is growing in popularity

"Bound For Glory" set a new North American attendance record for the company, with 7,794 fans showing up to watch the event in purpose. Je'Von Evans and Leon Slater are future stars in the industry and are emerging as genuine pulls for the company.

However, it was the Hardys vs. Team 3D that proved how TNA is trending in the right direction. While the match wasn't the best of the night, the fact that two legendary tag teams chose that event to mark the end of "The Dudley Boyz" careers is telling. Not only is TNA gaining steam, but it's clearly respected by the elder statesmen of the industry.

TNA is still behind AEW and WWE both in size and viewership. A TV deal is the next step in the company's renaissance. Nevertheless, events like Sunday's will do wonders for the growth of the TNA brand and its ability to draw in new eyeballs.

Bully Ray and D-Von had a fantastic end to their in-ring careers, and with it, they helped elevate TNA on their way out the door. Everybody came away as a winner, and now TNA must figure out how to build on the momentum it is currently enjoying. Its ability to do that will dictate how successful the final few months of 2025 will be.
