The Rock To Make WWE Return at Clash in Paris? Fans Spot Clue
The Rock WWE Final Boss

The Rock hasn't been seen on WWE TV since Elimination Chamber but fans reckon the Final Boss might be making a shock return at Clash in Paris on Sunday (August 31).

Fans Think The Rock Might Return At WWE Clash in Paris

WWE occasionally drops easter eggs to tease a surprise, and fans think that might be the case after seeing Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's latest social media post. He recorded himself on Instagram relaxing while riding a boat in Venice, Italy, which is about a two-hour plane journey away from Paris, France, the sight of this weekend's PLE.

In said video, Rock states, "act like you've been there", and admits to having never visited Venice before now. That could also be the case if he were to show up at Paris La Defense Arena to make amends for skipping WrestleMania 41.

Fans on social media have speculated that the People's Champion could be in Europe to make a stunning return on Sunday. One fan wrote: "The final boss is in Europe. Hold up...."

Another fan posted a video of Rock from Bad Blood last year when he returned to send Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes a message:

"Rock at Clash tomorrow."

One fan pointed out that WWE's passionate European fanbase hasn't had the chance to see Rocky:

"Imagine The Final Boss in front of a European crowd."

It's a long shot given Rock didn't even appear at Mania, but there are certainly some high-profile storylines for the Brahma Bull to stick his horns into. He could start a Bloodline war with Reigns, re-ignite his rivalry with Rhodes or even target Cena after they initially aligned earlier this year before the 17-time world champion's heel run ended up failing.

Corporate Rock Should Unleash The Beast

The Rock is one for big surprises and often likes to make his presence felt at PLEs or on RAW or SmackDown without prior knowledge. He has made unannounced appearances over the past year, returning at the end of Bad Blood in October 2024.

The Great One returned at the very end of that event to stare down Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes and seemingly fired them a warning. He seemed to signify that they were both in his sights, and this was alluded to during John Cena's big heel turn at Elimination Chamber.

He came under massive criticism when he skipped WrestleMania 41, and only further frustrated fans when he claimed it was because he wanted to keep the spotlight on Cena. This didn't make sense as he was the catalyst behind the heel turn at Elimination Chamber in March, and without him, the story fell flat.

That was also the case for Cena's heel run, as nobody could buy into the reasoning behind it or his persona without the Final Boss by his side. The 17-time world champion refused to comment on Rock's absence at Mania, with the supposed spotlight instead being shone on US rapper Travis Scott.

WWE have the chance to rectify this failed storyline by bringing The Rock back to manage Cena's longtime rival, Brock Lesnar, who he's expected to face at Wrestlepalooza on September 21. The Beast made his own shock return at SummerSlam, attacking Cena, but he hasn't been seen since, with many pondering his next move.

The Rock could use Lesnar as his monster heel to cause havoc, even without him having to show up on a regular occasion. He could target Cena because he feels the 'Greatest of All-Time' didn't live up to his word of selling his soul.

Cena's retirement is in December, and failing to conclude his storyline with Rocky would be a significant regret for WWE. It would be the perfect send-off for the pair to bring the saga to a close, one way or another.
