The WWE Welcomes Ron Killings (R-Truth)
WWE

On June 1st, it was announced that WWE star R-Truth (Ron Killings) was released from the company. It was very unexpected to the WWE Universe and employees.

The shock came from how involved R-Truth has been in the company recently and how he engages the audience and his peers. Only a week prior, Truth was fighting WWE Champion John Cena at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

The announcement that R-Truth would not resign with the WWE was incredibly upsetting for the fans, and they made sure their voices were heard. Only a week after his release at Money in the Bank, we saw not the return of R-Truth, but Ron Killings.

Heel Turn?

For the majority of the 17 years that R-Truth was in the WWE, he has been a face. His most notable and recent heel run was in 2011-2012 when he was partnered with The Miz. Other than that short period, it has been over a decade since R-Truth has been a heel.

Is it now his time to turn heel? Everything seems to align perfectly, and they can make many stories out of this.

After Truth’s return, WWE began advertising him as Ron Killings (his real name). As we saw at Money in the Bank, Ron Killings is not the same man that R-Truth was. He attacked his “hero,” John Cena, during the main event.

His aura was different; he was serious, unlike Truth. There was a look in his eyes that we hadn’t seen before

For him, making his return to the company, this may be exactly what his character needed. A new gimmick can bring him more opportunities, especially if he is more serious. Could we finally see Killings get a singles title run soon?

Where Can the WWE Go from Here?

This may be an excellent opportunity for Killings to receive the long-awaited push that he deserves. Many new stories can come from this return.

He attacked John Cena in the middle of the match. Will we see Cena vs. Killings rather than Cena vs. Truth? Will the championship be on the line this time?

The fans brought Killings back to the company. Can we get him to win a singles championship now? The last singles title that he held (besides the 24/7 championship) was the United States Championship in 2019, where it seemed like he accidentally beat Shinsuke Nakamura to win the title.

With this new character, any championship challenge could have a great story angle. Between Cena and Killings after what happened a few weeks ago, or against Dominik Mysterio, and they had their history in the Judgement Day, etc.

Wherever WWE decides to go with him, it is great to see him back where he belongs. Killings not only evoked an emotional response from the audience, but also from his peers.

Interviewer, Cathy Kelley, had teared up backstage talking about the incredible moment. It will be exciting to see his further contribution to the business and the effect that he has on people.

R-Truth’s WWE career may be wrapped up, but Ron Killings’ career is just beginning.
