On the heels of the major announcement of a partnership with WWE, TNA Wrestling held its Genesis pay-per-view event inside the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas. With NXT stars being heavily teased for the show in recent days, interest has grown even more for TNA‘s first PPV show of 2025. It was all capped off by a TNA World Championship match between Nic Nemeth and Joe Hendry .

X Division Title Match: Moose (c) vs. Ace Austin

Moose was accompanied by JDC and Alisha Edwards of The System. Austin wasted little time going after the champion, stomping him in the corner. With Moose on the outside, Austin leaped off the ring apron to land a cannonball. Momentum eventually swayed Moose’s way as the champion sent the challenger into the guardrail. Austin gained momentum with a suplex on the outside, but he was distracted by JDC. As a result, Moose was able to chokeslam Austin onto the ring apron.

On the outside, Moose charged at Austin, but he accidentally hit JDC with a Spear. With Austin and Moose in the ring, Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers marched down the ramp for a distraction. Austin ended up hitting a plancha onto both men. Back in the ring, Austin went for a springboard but ate a Spear midair. Austin managed to kick out at two. Moose went for another Spear, but Austin avoided it. Austin attempted Art of Finesse, but Moose Speared him in the back. A third Spear from Moose sealed the deal.

After the match, Eric Young and Steve Maclin cleared the ring. He hit stereo suicide dives on Edwards and Myers. All four men kept brawling on the outside before their match could be made official.

Once order was finally restored, this match was made official. Maclin went for a dive on Edwards, but Alisha grabbed his leg. This allowed Edwards to capitalize. Maclin was finally able to get back in the fight. He and Edwards took each other out with a double clothesline. Young and Myers were both tagged in. Young landed a dropkick on Myers, followed by a clothesline on Edwards onto the ring apron. EY hit a top rope elbow drop on Myers for a near fall.

Alisha got involved once again, this time going inside the ring. With the referee distracted by Edwards and Young, Alisha struck Maclin, allowing Myers to hit the Spear for a two-count.

The System went for the Backpack Stunner combination, but EY crotched Myers on the top rope. Maclin then hit K.I.A. on Myers for the win.

TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship: Spitfire (c) vs. Ash & Heather By Elegance

Ash & Heather made their entrances dressed as Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. They threw their pom-poms at the champions and the action was underway. George Iceman distracted the referee, allowing Ash, the illegal partner, to kick Dani Luna on a suicide dive attempt.

Ash hit a back elbow on Dani Luna, and Heather followed up with a dropkick in the corner. Jody Threat got the hot tag and ran wild. She hit a cannonball from the middle rope onto Ash and Heather. Luna tossed Heather out of the ring with Pop Shove It. With Ash on the ring apron, Luna lifted her back inside the ring for a German Suplex. Spitfire hot the Pressure Drop for the win.

Frankie Kazarian Brags About Countdown Show Win Over Leon Slater

In a backstage segment, Frankie Kazarian gave Leon Slater his due after their match on the countdown show, but he said he’s the “now” of TNA Wrestling. He said he’d pay close attention to the main event between Nic Nemeth and Joe Hendry. Kazarian pondered cashing in his title opportunity tonight.

Jordynne Grace vs. Tessa Blanchard

Grace charged at Blanchard right away and pushed her to the corner. Grace threw Tessa out of the ring and landed a suicide dive. She then hit the Juggernaut Jackhammer on the outside.

Grace lifted Blanchard and walked up the ring steps, but Tessa slammed her down. Blanchard went for a hurricanrana off the steps, but Grace caught her and slammed her head into the guardrail. Blanchard gathered herself and sent Grace into the steps. With Grace perched on the middle rope, Blanchard hit a springboard Codebreaker for a near fall. Tessa went for a top rope move but ate a palm strike. Grace landed a fall away slam from the top turnbuckle.

Grace went for a Package Piledriver but turned it into a Sitout Powerbomb for a two-count. Blanchard ran into a spinebuster. Eventually, Blanchard had a neckbreaker counter for another near fall. Blanchard hit a Destroyer counter but couldn’t get the three-count. On the ring steps, Blanchard went for a Powerbomb, but Grace reversed it and hit a rolling Death Valley Driver onto the floor.

Blanchard hit a Crucifix Driver from the top rope for a two-count. Blanchard then connected with a cutter on Grace, who kicked out at two. Blanchard went for Magnum, but Grace countered. Tessa attempted to expose the bottom turnbuckle. Grace went for the Muscle Buster but was countered into the Buzzsaw into the slightly exposed turnbuckle. Grace grabbed onto the bottom rope to break up a pin. This time, Blanchard ripped the middle turnbuckle. She hit a bulldog onto the exposed steel and followed up with Magnum for the win.

‘I Quit Match’: Mike Santana vs. Josh Alexander

Alexander played mind games with Santana early on. He chopped Santana on the ropes but was on the receiving end of some big boots. Santana dove over the top rope onto Alexander on the outside. The crowd wanted to see a table and Santana obliged. He set up a table on the outside. Santana went for a Powerbomb, but Alexander hit him with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex on the floor. Alexander damaged the leg of Santana using the ring post. Santana refused to quit.

In the ring, Alexander mocked Santana by landing the Three Amigos. Santana eventually rebounded and hit a leaping cannonball on his opponent, who was seated in the corner. Alexander fought Santana off the top rope but missed a moonsault. Santana landed a Death Valley Driver. Alexander countered Spin The Block into an Ankle Lock. Santana’s boot came off, Eddie Guerrero style. Santana then charged in, but Alexander sent him crashing into the table. Alexander put a new table and the ring steps into the ring. He continued to toss weapons into the squared circle. Alexander landed multiple char shots to the leg of Santana.

Alexander then pulled out the zip ties. Santana slapped Alexander in the face. Alexander kept kicking Santana, who started bleeding on his forehead. Santana got up from the C4 spike off adrenaline and hit a Powerbomb into the corner. Santana hit a springboard hurricanrana, followed by a Frog Splash and Spin The Block. Santana then used the zip ties to trap Alexander and he hit another STB. With Alexander seated in the corner, Santana put a table over him. He then leaped off the ring steps and hit a cannonball. Alexander still didn’t quit. Santana then went back to his LAX days and pelted Alexander with a slapjack weapon. Alexander was bleeding from his mouth. Santana was going to curb-stomp his opponent onto the steps, but Alexander finally quit.

Winner: Mike Santana

After the match, Santana told Alexander to shake his hand like a man. Alexander kept his word. He grabbed the mic and admitted that Santana is the standard of TNA now. He announced he was leaving TNA Wrestling.

TNA World Tag Team Championship: The Hardys (c) vs. The Rascalz

Nathan Frazer and Axiom of NXT made a surprise appearance, grabbing chairs at the end of the ramp to spectate the title match. The Hardys doubled-teamed Zachary Wentz with a slingshot on the bottom rope as Matt hit a leg drop. The Rascalz returned fire with combination knee strikes and kicks on Jeff. With Matt on the outside, Wentz attempted a suicide dive, but he got caught in a Side Effect.

Wentz landed a double dropkick on The Hardys. He tagged Miguel and the two took turns attacking Matt and Jeff in the corner. Miguel went for a suicide dive on The Hardyz but accidentally hit Fraxiom. The TNA security team separated all parties, which led to Nathan Frazer and Axiom making their exits.

Miguel was hit with Poetry in Motion. Matt and Jeff went for a Twist of Fate into a Swanton Bomb combo, but Miguel shoved Matt into Jeff. With Wentz sent flying to the outside, Matt hit Twist of Fate on Miguel in the ring. Jeff then landed the Swanton Bomb for the victory.

Clockwork Orange Fun House Match for the TNA Knockouts World Championship: Masha Slamovich (c) vs. Rosemary

Weapons surrounded the ring, but before either competitor could grab one, they charged at one another. Slamovich then got a trash can lid and tossed it on Rosemary’s head. She then got a hold of the staple gun, stapling the hand and armpit of Rosemary. Slamovich grabbed a cane and went to attack Rosemary, but she was misted. Rosemary set a table up on the outside, but it backfired. Slamovich landed a crossbody from the ring onto the challenger on the table.

Rosemary pulled out Janice and broke it in half. She drove the nails right into the midsection and the back of the champion. Rosemary then briefly went backstage to pull out a bag of thumbtacks. Rosemary placed the tacks on the stage and hit a Spear on Slamovich right onto them. The challenger then pulled out a board wrapped in barbed wire. Slamovich ended up hitting the Snow Plow onto the board. Slamovich put a ladder into the ring. Rosemary pushed the ladder and Slamovich fell onto a table. Rosemary went for the pin but only got a two-count.

Rosemary placed Slamovich onto a bed of seated chairs. She went up the top rope, but the champion met her there and hit Requiem right onto the chairs and scored the pin.

NXT’s Cora Jade Appears To Confront Masha Slamovich

After the match, Cora Jade went face-to-face with the TNA Knockouts World Champion. The two exchanged words and Slamovich held up her title. Jade made it clear that she wants a piece of TNA gold.

Ryan Nemeth Banned From Ringside

As Santino Marella gathered predictions from the Busted Open panel, Ryan Nemeth interrupted and ripped everyone on stage for not rooting for his brother Nic to defeat Joe Hendry. Santino then decided to ban Ryan from ringside during the main event title match.

Nemeth and Hendry had a grappling exchange before the champion popped the challenger with a dropkick. Hendry answered with a jumping knee. Hendry then hit his signature stalling suplex before Ryan Nemeth showed up in the crowd with a ticket.

Nemeth was able to capitalize and landed an elbow drop. The champion kept Hendry grounded, but he showed a bit of cockiness towards the challenger. Nemeth took his eyes off the ball and paid for it, getting planted with a Cutter. Hendry looked for The Standing Ovation, but Nemeth reversed into a sleeper hold briefly. The champion landed a headbutt, but Hendry hit him with a Pop-Up Powerbomb for a near fall. Hendry then connected with the AA for another two-count. Nemeth countered a second AA attempt with the Famouser. He then went up the top turnbuckle, but Hendry cut him out and landed a fall away slam. Frankie Kazarian then made his way out, looking to cash in his shot at the TNA World Championship, but John “Bradshaw” Layfield made his presence felt. Ryan Nemeth tried interfering, but he was laid out on the outside.

In the ring, Hendry hit Standing Ovation, but Nemeth kicked out at two. Hendry went for it again, but Nemeth got out of it and hit a Superkick followed by the Danzer Zone, but Hendry got his shoulder up before three. Hendry recovered and was able to hit a second Standing Ovation. This time, the challenger finally became the champion, as Nemeth’s shoulders were pinned to the mat for the three-count.

The closing shot of TNA Genesis 2025 was Joe Hendry celebrating with fans in the crowd.
