Playboy has approached many WWE superstars throughout the years to pose for their magazines. Some stars have even graced the front pages of the popular fanzine. However, during the Attitude Era, one diva who turned down the offer from Playboy was Trish Stratus . The WWE Hall of Famer recently talked about why she never posed for the men’s entertainment magazine.
Speaking with Inside The Ropes, the 48-year-old stated that she never looked at herself as a model. She always wanted to be a wrestler. Therefore, she believed that sexy photoshoots were not meant for her. Stratus added that her personality was very tomboyish, which made it difficult for her to pose for such magazines.
Pulling off the sexy image was hard enough for me, but being naked was a definite no. I’m here to be a wrestler. I wanted to be the best female wrestler ever.

Moreover, Trish Stratus said being naked in front of the camera was something she would never budge on. Many former stars, such as Maryse, Chyna, Candice Michelle, Torrie Wilson, and Christy Hemme, have all posed for the popular magazine Playboy during the partnership WWE had with the entertainment giant.
Those magazines quickly sold out and broke several records during the period of the Attitude Era. However, Stratus had some other virtues in her life. She went on to become one of the greatest women’s wrestlers of all time. The WWE Hall of Famer recently made her return at Money in the Bank. It was her first appearance after her triumphant run in WWE last year.
Trish Stratus returned to the WWE in early 2023. What felt like a one-off appearance eventually became a full-time run for over six months. Recently, the Canadian Superstar talked about her experience during the memorable run last year while competing with stars like Becky Lynch.
During a conversation with Inside The Ropes, Stratus said that when she first thought about coming back, her mind quickly grasped the idea of having a heel run. She wanted to touch the antagonistic layer of her character. In essence, the 48-year-old wanted to surprise the WWE Universe.
I'd like to surprise people too, and do it a little different and then I thought as a performer, I would like to challenge myself and do heel run because I hadn't touched that for so many years. Trish Stratus via Inside The Ropes
Moreover, the former Women’s Champion added that she developed a connection with Lynch during her time last year. It created an amazing on-screen chemistry between the two stars. Besides, she always wanted to try something new, and having that steel cage match with The Man at Payback made her feel content with her last run.
