Why Former 'nWo' Star is Dead Wrong About Becky Lynch

Bad takes happen. On the most recent edition of "Kliq THIS," WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash gave one of them.

Asked by co-host Sean Oliver if Becky Lynch "crossed the line" with her comments about recently deceased music legend Ozzy Osbourne on the August 25, 2025 edition of Monday Night Raw, Nash responded by saying, "I think her run's over. I think she's grasping. I think the business has passed her by."

This might be the single worst pro wrestling take of the year. Lynch, who frequently reminds us that she was ranked #1 by Sports Illustrated as the greatest WWE women's wrestler of all time, is in the middle of creating an illustrious "act II" of what was already a landmark career.

'The Man' Last Year

A year ago, many fans wondered if we would see Lynch again after she let her WWE contract expire in June 2024. A decorated superstar who made history as the first woman to win a main event at WrestleMania, speculation was rampant about whether Lynch, a new mom in her late 30s, would hang up the boots for good.

'The Man' Since Returning

But since returning at WrestleMania 41, those speculations have expired. "The Man" has ascended to new heights and is at the peak of her wrestling career.

Lynch looks the most comfortable in her own skin as we have ever seen her on WWE TV.

  • Her work as Women's Intercontinental Champion has elevated the mid-card title to feel like a world championship.
  • Her feud with Bayley and Lyra Valkyria this summer established Valkyria and kept Bayley relevant. Their Triple Threat showdown at WWE Evolution was terrific.
  • Her verbal assaults against WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella stung with truth and resonated with the audience.
  • Her new entrance music, "New Lows" by the Wonder Years, creates an aura around her that feels like must-see TV.
  • Her social media activity makes headlines.
  • Her growing crossover appeal, as evidenced by her appearance in Adam Sandler's Happy Gilmore 2 on Netflix, raises her stock in the company to become a mainstream star who brings new eyes to the product.

'The Man' in the Future

Now as a member of the hottest faction in WWE, The Vision, Lynch will be at the center of the main event picture on Monday Night Raw for the foreseeable future.

Coming off the heels (yes, pun intended) of a personal promo battle with arguably the best talker in the locker room, CM Punk, it won't be a surprise if Lynch and her husband, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, appear this Friday on SmackDown in Chicago.

If the rumors are true, WWE could be setting up for a star-powered mixed tag team match at WrestlePalooza on ESPN with two real-life married couples squaring off: CM Punk and AJ Lee against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch.
