Will Ospreay must listen to veterans to extend wrestling career

As a high flyer, Will Ospreay often puts his body at risk during matches. The English sensation has a fearless approach to his in-ring work, often making fans hold their breath as he performs incredible feats of athleticism.

However, MVP believes Ospreay needs to become smarter in his approach. After all, the former New Japan Pro Wrestling standout is arguably the face of AEW. A long spell on the sidelines would be disastrous for everyone involved.

"I told [Ospreay], 'That bump card is a real thing,'" MVP told Donnie DaSilva and Jimmy Korderas on the "HUGE POP!" podcast. "'I understand your exuberance and desire to go out there and do all these amazing things all the time, but you can't. It's not sustainable. It's not physically sustainable. Go out there and give them a great show, but hold back a little bit and save some of that stuff for the pay-per-view. Save some of that stuff for the important moments.' Will has such a great attitude. Despite his incredible talent, he really is a humble kid."

Knowing when to take risks and when to play it safe is an important part of the wrestling industry. There's a fine line between entertaining the fans and risking your entire career. Furthermore, the consistent bumps and bruises will eventually add up and could potentially limit talents from having long careers deep into their 50s.

MVP is one of many experienced veterans on AEW's roster. Having such well-traveled and highly successful talents is key to helping educate the younger generation coming through the ranks. Ospreay has proven himself as an elite talent and arguably the best wrestler in the world. It makes sense that he should begin to make moves to prolong his career.

As such, wrestling fans everywhere should hope Ospreay has taken MVP's advice on board. After all, he still has decades of amazing matches and achievements ahead of him. It would be a shame to see him waste those opportunities for the occasional crowd pop.
