August 11, 2025 has made history in the professional wrestling world, and no, it had nothing to do with Monday Night RAW that day. On that day, the longest professional wrestling match in the entire history of the business took place. The Mystery Wrestling promotion put forth a wild match for a very good cause, raising money for the Canadian Cancer Society in an event that was all about making this bizarre match a reality. A lot of fans are used to longer matches in wrestling, but nothing on the level of this, as this bout clocked in at 1309 minutes - over 21 hours!
Mystery Wrestling is a Quebec-based independent promotion run by AEW’s Evil Uno, member of The Dark Order. This company began in 2019, but has been running shows regularly since 2023, hosting shows in the Centre Aydelu in Gatineau, often being streamed live on Twitch. On August 11, Uno’s Mystery Wrestling teamed with C4’s “Fighting Back” Campaign to promote “The World’s Longest Match” event - an attempt to break the current record and raise a boatload of money for the Canadian Cancer Society in the process. In what was a massive team effort, they accomplished both these feats.
This bout was contested under Torneo Cibernetico rules, with 16 competitors competing in a lengthy tag team elimination match that allowed the match to continue on for literally hours. The bout clocked in at 21 hours, 49 minutes, and 12 seconds, and the match raised over $31,000 Canadian dollars - which is over $22,000 in USD. The post-show saw a further $2000 CAD raised in the fundraiser too.
A whole host of wrestlers entered the fray for this 21-hour-plus Cibernetico tag team match, but ultimately it was Stu Grayson who was the man to stand tall at the end of the night (well, it was Tuesday morning by that point), winning the match for his team. Stu Grayson’s victory came as his team of Gabriel Floyd, Jay Stevens, Jeff Fury, KJ Swayde, HADDY, Dante Dubois, Jan Itor, Joe Jobber, Katrina Creed, and Sasquatch defeated the team of Xander Orion, Dreya Mitchell, Jason Exile, Alvin Turner, Cecil Nyx, Mathis Myre, Junior Benito, Top Dog, and Tyler Nox.
A very close near-fall took place just before the record was set to be broken, but ultimately the match carried on, ending as Stu Grayson picked up the win several minutes after the record was theirs. A Knightfall from Grayson onto Junior Benito ended the contest. Stu Grayson is the former Dark Order member and tag team partner of Evil Uno - we think there was some creative favoritism at play here!
The 16 members of the match were not the only ones to work together to make this event and match a reality. There was also a conveyor belt of both referees and commentators for the event, featuring some very notable names. Among the cast of announcers included AEW names such as Evil Uno (of course), Orange Cassidy, Adam Cole, Nyla Rose, RJ City, ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey, AEW’s lead announcer Excalibur, Colt Cabana, Johnny TV, Dalton Castle, AEW referee Aubrey Edwards, Mansoor and Mason Madden of MxM Collection, and Matt Menard. Others who fans might recognize include Veda Scott, Chris Danger, and Simon Miller, among others.
There are some question marks surrounding this event, as Mystery Wrestling failed to get the Guinness Book of World Records on board to officially recognize their record attempt. This was due to Mystery Wrestling claiming that Guinness asked for a payout of up to five figures, as noted by Uno on X.
“We were in contact with Guinness World Record to make our attempt official. BUT… they’ve just told us it’s a minimum of 16000 USD to do so. We just can’t spend that in good faith. All to say, this will be an unofficial attempt at the world’s longest pro wrestling multiman match!”
Regardless of whether it is “official” or not, many tuned in to the live stream over the 21 hours and 49 minutes of action. Most importantly, the money raised was substantial.
