WWE NXT Battleground 2025 is here, and it has quite the card on deck. The event takes place on Sunday, May 25 live from the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. The show kicks off at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT.

At the time of writing, six matches have been confirmed for the event, with four of those being for titles. Here is all you need to know about the event, as well as a preview of three of the matches.

Myles Borne Challenges Oba Femi For Gold

The stage is set for a colossal clash at WWE NXT Battleground as the unstoppable Oba Femi defends the NXT Championship against the underdog, Myles Borne. Borne shocked the NXT Universe when he outlasted 24 other Superstars in a Battle Royal to become the new number one contender. Now, the unassuming contender stands on the biggest stage of his career, ready to challenge one of the most dominant champions NXT has ever seen.

Known as ‘The Ruler’, Femi has dominated NXT’s top names, most recently retaining his title in a triple-threat match against Trick Williams and Je’Von Evans at Stand & Deliver. Since surviving a chaotic fatal four-way at Stand & Deliver, Stephanie Vaquer has continued to elevate NXT, even making waves on Monday Night Raw. Tampa is set to witness a seismic showdown at Battleground as Vaquer puts the NXT Women’s Championship on the line against the powerhouse, Jordynne Grace. This high-stakes encounter has all the makings of a dream match, pitting Vaquer’s technical mastery against Grace’s unrelenting power.

After defeating Giulia in a hard-hitting number one contender’s match on May 6, ‘The Juggernaut’ earned her shot at the NXT Women’s Championship. Will ‘La Primera’ continue her reign of excellence, or is the dawn of Jordynne Grace’s dominance descend upon NXT? One thing’s for sure: Battleground is about to deliver one of the most anticipated women’s matches in NXT history.

Joe Hendry Defends TNA Gold Against Trick Williams

History will be made at NXT Battleground 2025 as the TNA World Championship is defended on a WWE PLE for the very first time. In a bout fueled by pride and animosity, TNA World Champion Joe Hendry will put his title on the line against former NXT Champion Trick Williams. What began as a war of words has quickly escalated into a personal feud, with both men crashing each other’s matches, delivering ambush attacks, and refusing to back down.

For Hendry, this is a chance to prove he belongs at the top of any promotion, anywhere in the world. For Williams, it’s about making history and silencing the doubters by becoming the first WWE Superstar to capture the TNA World Championship.
