WWE hosted NXT Halloween Havoc 2024 live from Hershey Park in Pennsylvania. As NXT continues to develop as a brand, WWE is trying some new things to add a social media wrinkle into the live show. The Busted Open Podcast hosts Dave LeGreca and Bully Ray helped host the pre-show, and throughout the night, they had a small segment in the crowd, making it feel like a different segment with the crowd right behind them. The night was filled with some good matches and a great main event. Here is a look at all of the NXT Halloween Havoc 2024 matches.

Devil’s Playground Match for the NXT Title: Trick Williams (c) vs. Ethan Page

Grade: A

Ethan Page jumped Trick Williams before the bell rang to begin the match. After Williams went to the outside, he and Page picked up chairs and started to bang them against each other. Williams would hit Page in the back with the chair. Page rolled out of the ring, picked up a pumpkin, and Williams would get a hold of it, place it on Page’s head, and started to attack him. The fight would then move onto the crowd as the falls could occur anywhere in the devil’s playground rules.

Trick landed a Trick Shot kick but was able to kick out of the three count. Page emptied a black bag full of nuts and bolts, but a reversal saw him land on his back with the nuts and bolts on the canvas. Trick then took Page to the outside of the ring and cleared out the announcer’s table. Page was able to avoid anything when he reversed a move by Williams. Page would then climb up the steel steps and do a razor’s edge through the announce table. Williams was hurt, and the trainers came out to check on him. They wanted him not to compete anymore.

Williams climbed back into the ring but was slammed by Page. Williams regained the momentum and executed a rock bottom on top of the steel steps. Williams got going and hit the Trick Shot, which led to him pinning Page and retaining his title.

Reaction: This was the night’s best match and the main event for a reason. Trick Williams and Ethan Page are future main-roster wrestlers.

NXT Women’s North American Title Match: Kelani Jordan (c) vs. Fatal Influence (Gauntlet Match)

Grade: B

Jasmine Nix began the gauntlet match against the North American champion, Kelani Jordan. While Nix tried to get the upper hand early, Jordan was able to get going quicker and had her way with Nix. That didn’t last long as Nix regained control of the match with a running kick and a snap suplex. Jordan regained control and had Nix laid out. Jordan climbed up to the top and executed a 450 splash while pinning Nix.

Next came Jacy Jayne, and she immediately started to attack Jordan. Jayne was wearing down Jordan until there was a moment when Jordan reversed the attack and gained control of the match. Jordan rolled up Jayne in a reversal and got the pin.

Lastly, Fallon Henley would come into the ring as Jayne attacked Jordan right before, even though she had already been eliminated. Jordan was on rubber legs and was on the receiving end of some chops by Henley to the chest. Then, in the center of the ring, they went blow for blow but Jordan was the one who got the better end of it. Jordan tried to finish Henley, but the other members of Fatal Influence interfered, and after a knee to Jordan’s 450 splash, Henley landed a kick and pinned Jordan to become the new champion.

Reaction: The match was okay, but something was missing. The point of the match was to put Jordan over even more, but it didn’t seem like that happened.

Ambulance Match: Andre Chase vs. Ridge Holland

Grade B-

Andre Chase wasted no time and attacked right away. He took Ridge Holland all the way to the ambulance and went for the quick win, but Holland stopped him. Holland would get Chase into the ambulance, but when he tried to close the door, Chase sprayed him with a fire extinguisher. Holland would recover and execute a supplex on Chase and use the ambulance stretcher as a weapon.

After both men used the stretcher, Chase executed a DDT on top of the announce table, which had Holland out cold. Holland recovered and would take Chase to the ambulance. He was unsuccessful in closing the door, and Chase would regain control of the match. Chase did a flip from the top of the ambulance and landed on Holland. After some back and forth, Holland landed a DDT on the exposed floor and shoved Chase into the ambulance. Once he closed the door, Holland was deemed the winner of the match.

Reaction: The ambulance gimmick is almost always a hard sell unless two high-caliber workers are in the ring. Andre Chase and Ridge Holland did their best, but that match didn’t feel like it did anything for either man.

NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez & Cora Jade vs. Giulia & Stephanie Vaquer

Grade A-

Guilia & Stephanie Vaquer quickly took control of the match as the fans were excited to see this historic matchup. Although Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade had their moments, it was clear that Giulia and Vaquer were much more fluid throughout the beginning stages of the matchup. There was a moment in the match when the referee turned his back, which led Jade to distract Giulia enough for Perez to take her down.

After both Perez and Giulia had an opportunity for a hot tag. Jade wasn’t in the corner, but Vaquer was, and she made her way into the match with all the momentum. All four women were in the ring and exchanged blows before making it out to the outside of the ring. The match maintained its momentum and displayed some high-quality spots from both teams. Guila would then execute a superplex on Perez, and Vaquer would then execute a corkscrew from the top rope. Vaquer then pinned Perez for the victory.

Reaction: Overall, it was a great match that showed the skills of some of the best women wrestlers in the business.

Tables, Ladders, and Scare Match for NXT North American Title: Tony D’Angelo (c) vs. Oba Femi

Grade B+

Right from the start, Tony D’Angelo wasted no time while the ring announcer was about to say his name, grabbed the mic, and said, “You know the rest.” He then proceeded to attack Oba Femi. D’Angelo got the crowd hot as he speared Femi through the barricade. Femi recovered and hit Tony D with a chair to slow the momentum down of the match.

After going back and forth, Femi zip-tied Tony D to the bottom ropes. Suddenly, the Family of Tony D showed up, but Femi got rid of them quickly. Rizzo was alone in the ring, but when Femi tried to attack her, Tony D speared him onto the ladder. Rizzo came into the ring and hit Femi with the crowbar, and Tony D’s family also came in to interfere. Tony D took full advantage, slammed Femi through the table, and pinned Femi for the victory.

Reaction: The match was a great way to open up NXT Halloween Havoc. There were moments where the action had too much time between them, but they set the bar from the start for the rest of the wrestlers in the back.
