Emenating tonight from the world's most famous sporting arena Madison Square Garden, WWE Raw tonight looks to be a great show. The main event is a highly anticipated rematch between CM Punk and Seth Rollins in a Steel Cage, with other matches involving Jey Uso, The New Day and Rey Mysterio also announced. Let's dive into the card tonight and any predictions we have for the show.
The bane of many in the WWE locker room's existence, Grayson Waller has been poking and prodding Jey Uso for a couple of weeks now. Waller accused Uso of being nothing more than a joke and that he has no chance of beating Gunther at WrestleMania 41, only for Uso to blast with him a superkick backstage.
Interestingly, Waller fought Cody Rhodes last year after he won the Royal Rumble with Rhodes picking up a quick win in seven minutes. Look for Uso to do much of the same tonight.
The New Day's heel turn back in December made for one of the most uncomfortable moments in WWE history. Since turning their backs on Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have been immensely bitter about perceived mistreatments and have turned their ire to WWE Hall Of Famer Rey Mysterio and his LWO group.
This feud looks like it will culminate tonight in a tornado tag match. The New Day's incredible heel turn needs a bigger showcase than a middling feud against the heatless LWO. Once Kingston & Woods pick up the win tonight, they need to turn their attention to the War Raiders and face them at WrestleMania 41 to win the World Tag Team Championships.
The rivalry between Seth Rollins and CM Punk is one of the most heated in WWE history and it seems like not even a steel cage is going to be enough to contain these two. Rollins promised to CM Punk before the Elimination Chamber that even if Rollins didn't win the Chamber, he would make sure Punk didn't either. He made good on his promise when he Curb Stomped Punk after being eliminated which led to John Cena winning the whole match.
Rollins has yet to score a win over CM Punk in his career (Punk won at the Raw Netflix debut in January and in a forgotten match from December 2013) but tonight should be the night for history to be made. Whoever wins the match however, it's highly likely that Roman Reigns will return after being absent since the Royal Rumble to destroy Rollins or both men in the aftermath of the battle. The rumor has been that a triple threat between Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and CM Punk will happen at WrestleMania 41 and this will be the launching pad for it.
AJ Styles' return to WWE Raw was supposed to give him a new lease on life, but it got off to a bad start at the Royal Rumble as the wrestling legend was eliminated by Logan Paul. Paul rubbed it in Styles' face weeks after the PLE and now Styles has a fire lit under him.
Styles is set to call out Paul in Madison Square Garden on tonight's Raw. It's possible that this will lead to a WrestleMania challenge, but it may be a bit early for that. Look for Paul to get the advantage over Styles in terms of physicality.
