It was certainly a hot WWE SmackDown right after the 2026 WWE Royal Rumble. We are full speed ahead to Elimination Chamber, and this week’s show certainly made proactive steps to set up the next PLE to be one of the biggest of the year. Here’s the WWE SmackDown result, as well as our reactions and analysis on all that unfolded for the February 6, 2026, episode. Let’s run it down.

Quick WWE SmackDown Results & Highlights (2/6/26):

  • The show began with Cody Rhodes and Undisputed WWE Champion Drew McIntyre getting into a heated argument, airing out his grievances through a scathing promo that hit McIntyre close to home. Rhodes pointed to the WrestleMania 42 sign, signaling his intent to keep his quest going to regain the Undisputed WWE Title.
  • RHIYO, Rhea Ripley, and IYO SKY defeat Kiana James and Women’s United States Champion Giulia to retain the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship when SKY ended proceedings by hitting Giulia with an Over the Moonsault for the pin.
  • United States Champion Carmelo Hayes defeats his former mentor, The Miz, in a non-title match, ending the bout by hitting The First 48.
  • Tiffany Stratton secures her slot in the 2026 Women’s Elimination Chamber Match, defeating Lash Legend and Chelsea Green, gaining the win via Prettiest Moonsault Ever on Chelsea.
  • A still free agent “Ruler” Oba Femi squashed Kit Wilson with the Fall From Grace in under a minute.
  • Drew McIntyre once again tried to speak to the WWE Universe, only to get battered by Jacob Fatu before he could do so.
  • Tama Tonga went to war with Shinsuke Nakamura and came out victorious via the Cut Throat.
  • Bitter rivals WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill and Jordynne Grace managed to snag a messy win for Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, with Grace using her own partner as a battering ram and rolling up Raquel for the win.
  • In a Men’s 2026 Elimination Chamber Qualifier in the main event, Randy Orton keeps his cause alive for number 15th by defeating Aleister Black and Solo Sikoa, delivering an RKO to one-half of the WWE Tag Team Champions for the W.

WWE SmackDown Reactions & Analysis (2/6/26):

The February 6, 2026, edition of WWE SmackDown was certainly an eventful one, beginning with a heated confrontation between Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre, which extended well into the night, with Jacob Fatu also battering Drew. It’s plain and simple to see, Rhodes will be the last man standing in the Chamber, with him challenging Drew for the Undisputed WWE Title at WrestleMania 42.

However, it might not be that easy, because we might have a third man in the mix, with Jacob Fatu equally as viable as the one WWE chooses to challenge the “Scottish Psychopath.” The safe bet is that either Rhodes or Fatu wins the Chamber, and they have a three-way, ala WrestleMania 21. Either way, a Triple Threat Match, with Jacob Fatu, makes the Rhodes and McIntyre more fresh and is absolutely the way to go if we were WWE.

RHIYO has been on a roll since winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. In the hottest period of this division since its inception, it feels like they’re preparing for a multi-team title match at the “Showcase of the Immortals,” which is very on brand for WWE to fit in every star to get a ‘Mania payday. Nevertheless, a multi-team war could be the best for this division to showcase all the talent on the biggest of the year for wrestling.

It seemed like WWE is also setting up for a title match between The Miz and Carmelo Hayes, with the title not being on the line this week, despite it being up for grabs due to the “U.S. Open Challenge” every other year. The Miz is a great veteran to elevate Melo.

WWE can pull the wool over everyone’s eyes by having Miz beat Melo at Elimination Chamber, with “The One” regaining it less than a month later to have his WrestleMania match and signal his true arrival.

Oba Femi remains a man without a brand, crushing everyone in sight. On Monday, he belted The War Raiders. This week, Kit Wilson was his victim. The promotion knows Femi is special, and they want to build the same aura of dominance he had on NXT, with a possible showcase match happening at WrestleMania, against the likeliest candidate, Brock Lesnar, but also even Gunther.

WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill and her formidable challenger, Jordynne Grace, will meet sooner rather than later, with SmackDown GM Nick Aldis sanctioning a WWE Women’s Title match for next week on SmackDown, which will most likely end in a disqualification, effectively setting up a match between the two at Elimination Chamber or WrestleMania 42.

Cargill has had a less-than-stellar run with the belt, barely defending it. If anyone should be the rightful conqueror of “The Storm,” WWE needs Jordynne Grace to carry the championship by WrestleMania. Jade has been more compelling as a hunter anyway, so having Grace win the big one can provide WWE with an avenue to book a program between the two well beyond ‘Mania.

Randy Orton is on the hunt for world title number 15, and he’s one step closer to achieving it by qualifying for the Men’s Elimination Chamber match. Orton will probably not win the Chamber, but at the very least, this angle continues, and it will most likely continue throughout 2026.

We’re seeing Orton win the title at some point between after ‘Mania and SummerSlam, setting up a showdown with former student and good friend Cody Rhodes. Who wins that match is up in the air, but it’s definitely a marquee matchup that needs to happen this year.
