WWE Superstars Who Need Better Storylines

WWE has a roster stacked with talented performers. While everyone can’t get the limelight, it’s clear that some superstars can and must have their moment. WWE successfully revitalized the tag team division on SmackDown, and it’s working wonderfully. This success is why a WWE tag team championship match from the brand is part of the Clash in Paris match card. Let’s explore singles wrestlers who need better storylines and a bigger push.

Zelina Vega Should Get More Opportunities

Zelina Vega first appeared in WWE in 2014 and even competed in an NXT Women’s Championship match in 2016. She has been with WWE since 2017, but over the past eight years, she has won only two titles, with the Women’s United States Championship being her sole singles title.

Her 63-day reign ended this year, and Vega has been out of action since December 2024 due to an injury. WWE has not given her a significant push in these eight years, nor have they provided updates on her recovery.

The company needs to recognize that she is a remarkable talent who can entertain and help build a fanbase among Puerto Rican audiences. Her moveset and charisma make her the perfect candidate for an underdog-to-champion storyline.

Jacob Fatu Has Become Obscure

Jacob Fatu burst onto the scene with undeniable charisma during his WWE debut last year. Known as the Samoan Werewolf, he was one of the most feared members of Solo Sikoa’s The Bloodline faction. When Jacob won the United States Championship at WrestleMania 41, fans were elated, but his reign was short-lived.

He lost the title to Solo Sikoa at Night of Champions 2025 and has since faded into obscurity. Recently, he assisted Sami Zayn during a SmackDown episode, helping Zayn become the new United States Champion. Jacob has the potential to be a main event superstar, but instead of nurturing his talent, WWE is positioning him as a sidekick to elevate others.

The former MLW star doesn’t need to be a henchman or help others claim gold—he needs to build his own legacy. Time will tell if this happens soon.

Grayson Waller is a Package Deal with The New Day

Grayson Waller is currently aligned with The New Day. Previously, he was part of a tag team with Austin Theory as A-Town Down Under. Now, with Theory sidelined by injury, Waller feels like a third wheel in the heel faction.

WWE has not helped him establish himself as a singles wrestler, despite his potential to be a talented United States or Intercontinental Champion. Grayson needs to stand on his own, and WWE should give him a singles opportunity.

While closing his chapter with Theory is essential, that can wait until the former United States Champion returns. Waller and Theory have been entertaining as heels, but nothing feels better than a deserving superstar getting relevant storylines. A feud with Rusev, Sheamus, or another wrestler could do wonders for Grayson Waller.

Austin Theory Needs a Better Storyline Upon His Return

Austin Theory is currently nursing an undisclosed injury and has been removed from WWE’s active roster as of August 2025. Since the company has not announced his release, it’s safe to assume he will return. When he does, the former United States Champion needs a storyline that showcases his talent.

Theory defeated John Cena at WrestleMania 39, retaining his United States Championship against the Cenation Leader. A superstar of his caliber deserves a compelling story, and WWE should give him opportunities in title matches or meaningful storylines. If he returns before John Cena’s retirement, a face-off between the two could deliver the entertainment fans crave.
