This article contains results and spoilers for WWE Survivor Series: WarGames. You have been warned!
San Diego became ground zero for war tonight as WWE brought its annual Thanksgiving event, Survivor Series: WarGames to the home of Ron Burgundy. Rhea Ripley and her team finally square off against Becky Lynch and her team, bringing an end to weeks of antagonistic war of words that saw AJ Lee take part in her first WarGames match.
Stephanie Vaquer defends her Women's World Championship against Nikki Bella following her vicious attack on La Primera, and Team CM Punk (Team Roman? Team Cody?) face off against Team Vision, including a dominating and violent Brock Lesnar. John Cena, just two weeks away from his final match, takes part in his very last WWE premium live event, defending his Intercontinental Championship against Dominik Mysterio.
There's nothing quite like your main roster debut, but her performance left no room for interpretation: Lash Legend debuted as the next big thing in the women's division tonight. With a last participant entrance, thumping music, and a dominant showing by clearing out every member of Team Ripley, Legend came to make her mark, and she didn't miss.
Lash Legend told TheSportster in our interview earlier this week about her dreams and goals for her time in WWE, including main eventing WrestleMania and winning the Women's Championship. If her main roster debut is indicative of what her career trajectory will be like, it won't be long until Lash Legend has WWE gold around her waist.
We knew this was coming. We tried to talk ourselves out of the sad feelings, bargain with ourselves, convince ourselves that this wasn't really happening, but it's inevitable: John Cena is retiring in two weeks, there's nothing we can do to stop it, and we'll be wishing it wasn't so in two weeks at Saturday Night's Main Event.
We assumed his run with the Intercontinental Championship would be short, and it's another great way for him to pass the baton to the next generation, putting over both Dominik Mysterio and a returning Liv Morgan in the process. It still hurts that we're here, so close to the end. There's been good and bad in this retirement run, but we're happy to have just experienced it all, one last time.
