This article contains spoilers and results from WrestleMania 42, Night 2. You have been warned!WWEWrestleMania 42 continues with Night 2 from Las Vegas, and after a controversial WrestleMania 42, Night 1 that saw Cody Rhodes retain over Randy Orton, the stakes for World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk couldn't be higher. He faces Roman Reigns in tonight's main event after weeks of back and forth, intense promos, and deep resentment between the two.
Oba Femi faces Brock Lesnar in the most anticipated match of the night, and Penta defends his Intercontinental Championship against Rey Mysterio, Dragon Lee, Je'Von Evans, Rusev, and JD McDonagh. The Demon returns as Finn Balor faces Dominik Mysterio, and Women's Champion Jade Cargill attempts to retain her title against Rhea Ripley.
Roman Reigns won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, beating CM Punk tonight in the main event of WrestleMania 42. After weeks of high temperature promos that blurred the lines of reality and script, Reigns now retakes his place on the top of the WWE Universe, holding the Big Gold 2.0 for the first time.
The match was one for the ages, fully eclipsing the Night 1 main event in terms of story structure, action, and delivery, and is a hot contender for Match of the Year. It remains to be seen how often we'll see Roman Reigns on television, and it feels premature to end Punk's title reign just now, but the Tribal Chief is your new World Heavyweight Champion and ends a weekend of up and down moments here in Las Vegas.
If you think your favorite WWE Superstar is the most over in the company, tell them to be serious for two minutes and watch Rhea Ripley. Allegiant Stadium went absolutely crazy, on four separate occasions, during her entrance at WrestleMania 42, and it's impossible to ignore that Ripley is the biggest star in the company as she beat Jade Cargill to win the WWE Women's Championship.
That's not to say that Cargill didn't put up one hell of a fight, putting on the performance of her career in Las Vegas in what felt like the highest-stakes make-or-break moment of her career. Unfairly stigmatized during her Championship reign, Cargill and Ripley crushed this match, in one of the best front to back WrestleMania cards in recent memory.
After the most anticipated big man match of the decade, Brock Lesnar lost to Oba Femi in a decisive manner in the opening match of WrestleMania 42, Night 2. What came next was something no one expected: Lesnar took his trademark gloves and his boots off, left them in the middle of the ring, and called it a career.
It was an emotional moment for Lesnar, as well as Paul Heyman, fighting through tears as they embraced and the Las Vegas crowd cheered and bid him adieu. With his loss, Lesnar puts the cap on a more than two-decade-long career while elevating the next big star in WWE, Oba Femi, in his first WrestleMania moment.
The hottest act in sports entertainmenthausen had another banger of a segment tonight at WrestleMania 42. Danhausen, flanked by his Minihausen squad, interrupted The Miz and Kit Wilson's segment in the ring with John Cena, and after several shots below the belt, Danhausen hit Miz with a Five Knuckle Shuffle to the delight of Cena.
There is absolutely nothing more entertaining or fun than Danhausen, and seeing the way the WWE Universe has responded to him is nothing short of inspiring. This new addition has plenty of legs to walk on, and we can't wait to see more of this every week on Rawhausen on Netflix.
