WrestleMania 42 Saturday Predictions are here for April 18, 2026, live on ESPN Unlimited, at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton are set to headline the show in what is both Cody and Orton’s third ever WrestleMania Main Event. Indeed, Cody closed ‘Manias 40 and 41 whilst Orton closed ‘Manias 25 and 30. With that being said, it is now time for some foolproof WrestleMania 42 Night 1 Predictions, starting with Drew McIntyre vs. Jacob Fatu.
Jacob Fatu needs to get his revenge for Drew McIntyre screwing him out of the world title picture. Granted, McIntyre was probably a red herring for the mystery attacker angle back in October, but he has screwed Fatu out of both the Rumble and the Chamber. Since McIntyre has a movie to film and will be off television for the majority of the summer, Jacob Fatu should defeat the former world champion to elevate himself to the main event scene and fight for the world title in the summer.
Prediction: Jacob Fatu
This women’s tag title match is reportedly in jeopardy due to the lingering Nikki Bella injury. Although it would be nice for Bella Twins to finally win the tag titles after performing Twin Magic since the Divas Era, BayLyra are the best fits for the titles. They were supposed to win the titles last year against the Judgment Day until Becky Lynch heinously attacked Bayley backstage and made her miss WrestleMania. Irresistible Forces are boring, stale champions and Charlexa should break up imminently.
Prediction: BayLyra
Since the titles are not on the line, LA Knight and Usos should get their revenge on the Vision for past transgressions. It looks like iShowSpeed replaced Bronson Reed in the Vision and he has no business winning a match against the most established tag team in the WWE alongside the most popular superstar in the WWE. This match should end with LA Knight pinning iShowSpeed to assure the victory for his team. This will merely be a hot start to WrestleMania Weekend to get the crowd hyped.
Prediction: LA Knight & Usos
It does not really matter who wins between AJ Lee and Becky Lynch. They are both amazing in their own right and would both add prestige to the IC Title. However, the fact of the matter is that AJ Lee is a part-timer who likely dethroned Becky inside the Chamber instead of Mania not only to get the hometown victory moment but also because she is going on hiatus after Mania. Since Becky never got the upper hand on AJ Lee in this entire feud, she will get her comeuppance to win the title back.
Prediction: Becky Lynch
On paper, the match between Gunther and Seth Rollins will undoubtedly steal the show. Due to unforeseen Rey Mysterio and Bron Breakker injuries, this match feels contrived since their stories did not align necessarily. However, WWE can pivot to something compelling. By defeating Seth Rollins and saving Paul Heyman thanks to an assist from Bron Breakker, Gunther can use that as leverage to force Paul Heyman to hand deliver him Brock Lesnar for his retirement match at SummerSlam.
Prediction: Gunther
Stephanie Vaquer and Liv Morgan started off hot but lost its steam over time the past few months. Liv Morgan, the Royal Rumble Winner, needs her WrestleMania moment after losing on the big stage six times. Since Vaquer already had an astronomical push on NXT and the main roster in 2015-2026 after winning three titles, it is better off that Morgan wins the title, especially since she has a dissension storyline to finish with Roxanne and Raquel Rodriguez that should have the title on the line.
Prediction: Liv Morgan
Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton have enough history and chemistry to pull out a compelling story for WrestleMania. At face value, they did not need Pat McAfee or Jelly Roll in this story. However, WWE deemed it necessary to assure that Orton gets heel heat and Rhodes garners babyface sympathy. The fact that McAfee said he would leave WWE forever if Cody Rhodes retains already gives it away that Orton is winning his 15 World Title since McAfee is scheduled for Backlash in May.
If WWE does not reveal that Orton is the mystery attacker of Fatu in this match, WWE could make the ending to this match more exciting if Kevin Owens get involved here. Owens had a historic rivalry with both Rhodes and Orton on the road to ‘Mania 41 last year. He battled Rhodes for the WWE Title at Royal Rumble 2025 and was supposed to battle Orton at Mania 41 before his neck injury. It would make sense for him to get involved. If not, there’s always Ted Dibiase Jr. for a Legacy reunion.
Prediction: Randy Orton
