Andrew Luck keeps refining the art of the comeback. On Sunday, he did the heavy-lifting, then let Donald Brown and Adam Vintatieri make the plays that mattered. Luck led the Colts on two time-consuming, fourth-quarter drives, getting a 3-yard touchdown run from Brown and a 49-yard field goal from Vinatieri to hand Seattle its first loss of the season, 34-28. ''They just play football,'' Luck said of his teammates. ''I bet Robert (Mathis) doesn't even look at the scoreboard during the game. He's just going as hard as he can every play, and we just try to follow him.'' Apparently, the Colts (4-1) are doing a fine job of that. They have sole possession of the AFC South lead for the first time in the post-Peyton Manning era, and Luck has nine fourth-quarter comebacks in 21 career starts. On Sunday, he was 16 of 29 for 229 yards and two TDs. Seattle's Russell Wilson finished 15 of 31 for 210 yards with two TDs and ran 13 times for 102 ya...

Indianapolis Colts: legitimate contenders

The Indianapolis Colts did it again. Is it the same story two weeks later? Not quite. This Colts team proved that they can, not only stick with the big boys and beat them, but do it in almost any fashion. And the Colts 34-28 victory over the Seattle Seahawks proved just that this weekend. T.Y. Hilton had a big day against the ‘legion of boom’ (Photo credit: AP Photo/Brent R....

Luck rallies Colts to a 4th quarter victory over Seattle

After barely escaping Week 1 with a victory over Oakland, a week 2 loss at home, and losing 3 of its offensive starters to injuries, the Colts looked to be in real trouble after 2 weeks of football. But then, Andrew Luck and Indianapolis turned it around by winning three straight games, two of them against NFC powerhouses San Francisco and Seattle. The latter, coming as inexplicably...

Andrew Luck connects with T.Y. Hilton for 73-yard TD

The Colts got on the board in their game against the Seahawks Sunday afternoon with this bomb from Andrew Luck to T.Y. Hilton, good for a 73-yard touchdown. The big play was the first touchdown the Seahawks have surrendered in the first quarter this season. The post Andrew Luck connects with T.Y. Hilton for 73-yard TD appeared first on The Nosebleeds.

Colts rally, end Seahawks' streak

Andrew Luck handed Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks their first loss of the season. On a day, the Colts' offense struggled at times, Luck threw for 229 yards and two touchdowns and Donald Brown put the Colts ahead with a 3-yard TD run early in the fourth quarter to knock off previously unbeaten Seattle 34-28. Luck led yet another fourth-quarter comeback, his ninth in...

WATCH: Colts block field goal and return it for TD

The Seattle Seahawks seemed to be in complete control of their game against the Indianapolis Colts until Andrew Luck threw a 73-yard touchdown to T.Y. Hilton.  On the next drive, the Seahawks were lining up for a field goal and the kick was blocked and returned 61-yards for a touchdown by Delano Howell.  The Colts now hold a 14-12 lead in the 2nd quarter.

Seahawks MMQB: Engine stalls in Indy

Seattle loses 34-28 Boy was I wrong in my prediction of this game. On “Blueprints to Victory” I predicted that the Seahawks would easily win the game 27-10.  That was based on the Colts I watched during their first 4 games of the season. What we saw on Sunday was a much better Colts team, a much better offense and definitely a much better Andrew Luck. If you look at the stat...

Week 5 Endgame: The blueprint for victory – Seahawks vs. Colts

Keys to success Every week I complain about the Seattle Seahawks‘ slow starts, and every week they respond by starting slowly. It is very frustrating!   This week I don’t think it is key to winning on Sunday. Sherman and the LOB must put a stop to Luck (Photo: USA TODAY). The Colts tend to start games slowly as well.  We could easily see the first half ending with single digits...

Top 5 NFL teams after Week 5

So we are almost done with Week 5 in the NFL. There were a few teams that are still unbeaten and other teams that recorded their first loss this weekend. After the crazy week that was here are my top 5 NFL teams through Week 5. 5. Indianapolis Colts Andrew Luck and the Colts beat one of the NFL powerhouse teams, the Seattle Seahawks, this Sunday. Granted the Colts were at home and...

Indianapolis 34, Seattle 28 Game Rewind

Week 5 Analysis Andrew Luck tossed two touchdown passes to T.Y. Hilton and Indianapolis recovered from an early 12-point deficit to hand visiting Seattle its first loss of the season. Russell Wilson passed for 210 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for a career-high 102 yards for the Seahawks (4-1). My turning point. Seattle scored 12 points in the opening 10 minutes before Luck...

Double A Breakdown: Week 5 vs Seattle Seahawks

In what is perhaps the game of the week, the undefeated Seattle Seahawks travel to Indianapolis to face the Colts on the heels of a huge comeback victory against Houston. The Colts are coming off a 34 point win against the Jaguars, and are on a bit of a hot streak. The game also features a battle of two sophomore quarterbacks which should be fun to watch.   What the Colts have...

Colts return blocked FG for TD, upset Seathawks

getty images The Indianapolis Colts continued their strong start moving to 4-1 on Sunday with a win against the Seattle Seahwaks. That is No. 26 Delano Howell taking the ball to the endzone to give the Colts a touchdown. The Colts also had some big plays by some guy named Andrew Luck. Indianapolis will play San Diego next Monday in Week 6. Seattle will have a week to prepare for Tennessee.

Indianapolis Colts Are No Longer Strictly an Offense-Oriented Team

For years the Indianapolis Colts were all about the offense. The team spent big on its scoring weapons and really counted on draft picks to fill in on defense and the offense to simply outscore the opposition. Not any more. @cjzero/Twitter The Colts are still a pretty potent offense, but the team doesn't necessarily have to rely on Andrew Luck and company to...

Seahawks stumble in Indianapolis, falling 34-28

Russell Wilson threw two touchdown passes and ran for 102 yards Sunday. He felt as if he should have done more. On a day the Seahawks settled for four field goals and had a safety, Wilson watched as Andrew Luck again rallied the Colts late and led Indy to a 34-28 victory. ''We had a lot of situations today that we could have controlled a little bit better. For whatever...

Colts battle back to defeat Seahawks 34-28

What. A. Game. Seriously that was one of the most fun football games I've watched in a while and it also was a huge win by the Colts. Huge. One of (if not the) best teams in the NFL traveled to Indianapolis. The atmosphere at Lucas Oil Stadium was like that of a playoff game. And the Seahawks jumped out to a 12-0 lead by the middle of the first quarter. Russell Wilson the...
