Clippers center DeAndre Jordan has been the subject ofmuch of the NBA trade speculation this week, but Thursday morning he was in New York to talk about a something else: Hitting people with sticks. Jordan has been working with lacrosse star Brendan Mundorf, learning the fastest growing sport in North America. Yes, you read that right: DeAndre Jordan is learning how to play lacrosse. He also thinks the NBA should adopt some of the rules. "We should be able to hit somebody with a stick at least one time in the game," Jordan said, while Mundorf tried not to laugh. "Everybody gets to hit somebody at least one time per game. Anything goes, it doesnt matter." Jordan himself tends to play with an "anything goes" personality, so its not shocking that he would be open to playing a sport that differs so much from the one he has made a career in. The YouTube video below shows Mundorf, the Denver Outlaws and Philadelphia Wings attacker, teaching Jordan the f...

DeAndre Jordan 'excited to come to Boston' (You know, if the deal happens)

As of now the reported Celtics-Clippers deal is off because David Stern has deemed the deal to be "against NBA rules". However, the teams are still working on it, and there is a very realistic chance that the deal ends up being finalized after being tweaked to appease the commish. When the dust settles, there's a strong chance that the trade is still built around...

Clippers to give up the two first rounders, deal could be done today

ESPN Although sources stressed that final details were still being worked out, one trade would be a straight player swap sending Clippers center DeAndre Jordan for Garnett, with the second move calling for Boston to receive two first-round draft picks as compensation for freeing Rivers from his Celtics contract. However, ESPN.com has learned the teams will have at least one more...

Doc-KG-Jordan trade simply doesn't make sense

Please God, let Ainge have a revelation before it's too late. A couple of days ago, I wrote an open letter addressed to Danny Ainge, hoping that he'd realize he had the upper hand in this deal and would at least manage to offload a 5 mil contract onto the Clippers. Apparently that didn't go well. So here's my second attempt to explain why this proposed trade, i.e...

Report: Lord Stern forcing Celtics/Clips to renegotiate trade

According to ESPN’s Marc Stein: Source tells ESPN that Celts & Clips have today begun discussing new trade scenarios to try to satisfy league’s misgivings on these deals Last tweet means that Celts/Clips deals — IF agreed — won’t necessarily take form of DeAndre Jordan & two firsts going to Boston And from Sport City’s Mark Heisler: NBA has problem w/twin transactions...

Everything We Thought We Knew We Didn't Know

For over a week now, we've been told that there was a deal on the table that would send Kevin Garnett to the Clippers in exchange for DeAndre Jordan. There was also a deal that would release Doc from his Celtics' contract to allow him to sign a similar contract with the Clippers. All this was according to sources, of course. Today, we see this in the Herald: Though...

Report: Clippers Plan to Finalize Doc Rivers Deal Thursday, Trade DeAndre Jordan, Two First-Round Picks to Celtics

Clippers management was thinking that two first-round picks may be a bit too much to give up for a Hall of Fame-level coach. Clippers point guard Chris Paul was thinking it wasn’t much at all. What both sides can agree on, though, is that the Clippers — draft picks or not — are better off if Paul stays around, and that means making the deal for Celtics coach Doc Rivers happen...

Clippers – Celtics trade coule be held up by David Stern

Looks like the Clippers and Celtics may have hit another snag in their ongoing quest to swap DeAndre Jordan and Kevin Garnett as well as allow Doc Rivers to bounce out of his contract and head west. Per league rules, not only are coaches prohibited to be formally “traded,”  teams can’t trade or move forward with free-agent signings with contingencies or side deals attached...

Report: NBA will not allow Clippers and Celtics deal to happen

For weeks we have been hearing about a potential blockbuster deal in which the Boston Celtics would send Kevin Garnett to the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for DeAndre Jordan (and possibly Eric Bledsoe) along with draft picks. What those basketball reasons were, we never were told. Now...

Clippers and Celtics trade talks back on

Surprise, talks are back on between the Clippers and the Celtics. The catalyst for those reignited conversations? Chris Paul’s desire to get it done allegedly. It’s no secret the Clippers are doing whatever they can to keep CP3 happy and ready to resign with the franchise once free agency kicks off July 1st. The Clippers walked away from the negotiating table, balking at Boston’s...

Report: NBA Won’t Allow Celtics-Clippers Deal

The NBA reportedly won’t allow the Clippers and Celtics to go through with the deal that would send Kevin Garnett and Doc Rivers to the Clippers for DeAndre Jordan 2 first-round draft picks because it goes against the league’s collective bargaining agreement. According to CBS Sports: The Celtics and Clippers were informed days ago that such an arrangement is not permitted under...

Chris Paul reportedly pressuring Clippers to make deal with Celtics

The Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers may not be done dealing just yet. Earlier this week, LA reportedly rejected Boston’s offer of Kevin Garnett and Doc Rivers for DeAndre Jordan and two first-round picks.
