We've tried really hard not to wade into this, but it touches on a few of our favorite topics. (1) The Atlanta Braves (2) ESPN If you are a baseball fan, you know the all-star game is next week. And the last component to the two teams roster is a staged popularity contest known as the "Fan" vote. And what this story is about is how polarizing it's become. The reason. Well, that happened a couple of days ago. When the final 5-players who would be in said vote were announced a story appeared over the weekend on the popular website And one of the links within that story is at the bottom of the image here to your right. If you look closely--it said the following: "Puig in Final Vote" (link) and next to it "He Belongs" (link) --Note the image that it replaced is on your left. Look closely. It didn't mention a single other nominee. And that slight has sent quite a few people in the Atlanta area and well, ju...

Jay-Z's next client target: Yasiel Puig

In only a few short months, Jay-Z and Roc Nation have put together quite the list of high-profile clients, and now they reportedly have their sights set on the Dodgers phenom.

Dodgers have released the best/worst Yasiel Puig All-Star plug ever

The Dodgers want Yasiel Puig to be an All-Star. Yasiel Puig wants Yasiel Puig to be an All-Star. They are both desperate. This is the only reason I can think of that this plug happened. Regardless, I’ve never been more grateful for whatever string of awesome/terrible decision making led to this. 1) Puig can talk to animals. 2) Puig can do … things blindfolded. 3) Puig can...

'Arrogant' Puig captures Diamondbacks' attention

It seems apparent that Dodgers phenom Yasiel Puig will continue to be a flashpoint in the simmering antipathy between Los Angeles and Arizona Diamondbacks. That animosity came to head last month with a bench-clearing brawl -- in which Puig played a supporting role by throwing a couple of haymakers -- that resulted in suspensions for five players, plus various managers and coaching...

Is ESPN stumping too hard for Yasiel Puig?

With the MLB All-Star Game Final Vote campaign currently clogging your Twitter feeds today, one theme has been popping up surrounding the National League voting this week: is ESPN pushing Yasiel Puig a little too hard to win the vote? If you simply looked at ESPN's Twitter, you wouldn't get that impression. One tweet about Puig has come out since the Final Vote began...

The Dodgers' Yasiel Puig attempts to cross the plate and stretch the Dodgers' lead to 5-0 over the Diamondbacks but is denied a run as he collides with Arizona catcher Miguel Montero...who gives him... Full story at Bob's Blitz ~

Freddie Freeman or Yasiel Puig?

We the people, fans of Major League Baseball have the power to vote in the final All-Stars for the MLB All-Star Game at Citi Field. It was thought that the Cuban sensation Yasiel Puig would run away with the voting, but the Atlanta Braves fans have spoken and helped Freddie Freeman jump out to an early lead. We can vote through Thursday and you can make it official by clicking here...

Report: Jay-Z ‘Wooing’ Yasiel Puig to Sign Dodger Phenom to Roc Nation Sports

Jay-Z seems to be on a mission to field an entire major league team. The music mogul’s newest target for his Roc Nation Sports agency is Dodgers phenom Yasiel Puig, according to Yahoo! Sports. During a recent trip to New York, Puig was invited to a party at a club that Jay-Z owns after a teammate gave the 22-year-old the rapper’s information. Apparently, Puig left the meeting...

D-backs' Gibson, Dodgers' Puig peas in a pod

PHOENIX -- Kirk Gibson sees a lot of his younger self in rambunctious, sometimes reckless Dodgers rookie Yasiel Puig. He approves. "That's refreshing to watch," said Gibson, the Diamondbacks manager. "Honestly, even from an opponent's point of view, that's refreshing." Former Tigers manager Sparky Anderson once said Gibson played 150 percent at...

Ian Kennedy: Yasiel Puig plays with a lot of arrogance

Your browser does not support iframes. Los Angeles Dodgers phenom Yasiel Puig made a rookie mistake on Tuesday night when he tried to score from first on a dropped fly ball to center in the top of the 5th. The relay throw from Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop Didi Gregorious beat Puig by several steps, and all [...]

Yasiel Puig Called ‘Arrogant’ by Ian Kennedy, Gets Finger-Wag From Miguel Montero After Collision at Home Plate (Video)

There’s aggressiveness on the basepaths, then there’s forcing a play. During the Dodgers’ 6-1 win over the Diamondbacks in Arizona, Yasiel Puig demonstrated the latter. In the top of the fifth inning, Adrian Gonzalez came to the plate with the bases loaded, driving a long fly ball to straightaway center field. The runners had to freeze as Arizona center fielder Adam Eaton tracked...

I've Been Stricken With Puig Fever

Somebody get this chinaman off me. The lists and the guest posts are over which means that it is time for me to roll up my blogging sleeves again and get to work once more. Honestly, I can’t even remember the last time that I actually wrote one of my usual daily gems. When was the last time that I poked the big, handicapped Buckeye bear? Well, it won’t be today. I did a lot...

Jay-Z Targeting Yasiel Puig and Yoenis Cespedes for Roc Nation Sports Representation

Sure, why not?

Reeling D-backs hope to beat up on depleted Brewers

The Diamondbacks are reeling after seeing their comfortable 4.5-game NL West lead shrink to 1.5 games after the Dodgers swept them in three games, including a 14-inning heart breaker Wednesday. L.A., with rookie phenom Yasiel Puig and a resurgentg starting rotation, has been suggested as the new NL West favorite, so it's up to the D-backs to bounce back and protect their ground...
