Calgary Flames Arena Flooded With ‘Millions’ of Gallons of Water, Putting First Eight Rows Underwater (Photo)

Widespread flooding in Alberta has caused countless amounts of damage, including to the home of the Calgary Flames. According to team president Ken King, the Saddledome has suffered a “total loss” at the event level, and the arena has been flooded with “millions and millions” of gallons of water, putting the first eight rows underwater. A photo circulating online purports to show the extent of the damage, and the visual seems to match up with what King described at a news conference on Saturday evening. However, the Flames are “fairly confident” that the building is structurally intact, and that the water is receding. They have stated that the arena will be ready for the start of the NHL season.
