Chiefs and Andy Reid...10-0, Not So Sure This Time

Posted November 14, 2013

All season I have lauded the job that Andy Reid has done with his surprising Kansas City Chiefs. They have been amazing so far, especially from a defensive standpoint. But this week they will face the Broncos and a legend at QB. If Manning is healthy and gets the time to throw the Broncos should defend their home field and give the Chiefs their first loss of the season. Not saying they can't win mind you, but to do so I feel they will need to do what they have done all season....create points on defense and rattle the QB's cage.

If they can hit Peyton enough and make him hurry his passes they have a chance, but only if they get Manning out of his comfort zone. But!!!...should the Chiefs win this one...the critics will officially need to shut up and give this team the respect and credit they deserve and have earned. No matter what the outcome of this game, Andy Reid has done an amazing thing with the Chiefs this season.

  • Being a win away on Sunday from being on top of the NFCE for the first time in three seasons makes it easy not to care what Andy is doing.
  • That's not the point Brinkster...since your an eagles fan it's right that you would only care about your team winning. My point is that Andy deserves credit for what he's doing this season. And it appears the eagles fans on the Yard would rather bite off their nose to spite their face...rather than give this man his props. They're not winning with 'Smoke and Mirrors'. Andy has built something special and deserves to be given credit. Wins are hard to come by in the NFL and he has a bunch of them so far.
  • He didn't really build that team considering he's been there for a half season and no longer has personnel duties. They're also winning with defense while Andy's offense is fairly pedestrian. He does deserve some credit though and the players believe in him at this point.
  • Last year week 4 we were 3-1 atop the NFC East. But like last year it's meaningless if you don't finish that way.
  • Big difference between week 4 and being in 1st going into a week 12 bye. This team is getting better after giving up on Andy last year.
  • There is no doubt GR that this is the true test for Andy and the Chiefs. If there is one coach that can beat the Broncos it's the great Andy Reid. Manning has missed practice so he may not be 100%. I agree with you if they can rough him up a lot and get him out of his comfort zone the Chiefs have a chance.
  • That Chiefs defense is pretty damn good...I believe they average just 13 PTS surrendered per game, nasty stuff. It's good that the game will be the only one on so every football fan will be watching.
  • but you have to admit,,,sorry he has a better record than Chip...
  • I hear ya KS...damn, he has a better record than everybody. This game will be the big test for his Chiefs. Besides watching my team...this is the game I look forward to the most this weekend.
  • Good point Kelly.
  • Im not saying Kelly isn't **** well in the NFL , tied with Dallas for the league lead.
this is what I dont get Andy Reid 9-0 and if loses one game?
chip Kelly tied for the lead in the NFL and its his first year?
What on earth do we want as Football fans a no hitter and stop their team to no yards rushing and no yards passing and still whine?
  • what do football fans want?
    A shutout
stop the team to no yards passing and no yards gain and still whine?
  • The only place in the U.S. that will refuse to give Andy credit for the Chiefs turnaround is Philly. I and my household will still be rooting for the guy Sunday at 8:30. (Due to my fantasy football match-up with a fellow Barker, I'm actually more juiced about that game than any other this week.)

If Kelly had come in here and did what Reid did, I'm certain some people would be walking around with gold pacifiers shaped like Chip Kelly's ****. And that's over a 5-5 record! Reid took a worse team and got a better result in the same time period. But give him credit? Philly fans? We aren't exactly known for grace, now are we?
  • I won't argue that point at all.
  • Funny stuff Flip. I know two Eagle barkers that would be walking around with gold pacifiers shaped like Chip Kelly's **** if the Eagles had a 9-0 record. I think it was Ganggreen that said he could coach the Chiefs to the same record as Reid has with K.C. What a joke. I hope they go undefeated. Wouldn't that be a kick in the ****?
  • Tony, You forgot the Barker with the multiple ID's....rhymes with Breazy I think....the biggest clown on the Yard. ;-)
  • Lol GR. I always forget the kid from Delaware. No more Giant repeat threads. I give him some credit though. He's taken a beating from us over the years and still comes back for more.
  • YEA so, how many NFL teams go unbeaten the whole year?
