Found June 03, 2013 on Diehardsport:
You had to figure that with the game at 4-1, that things would get a bit messy in the third period, but no one would have scripted it like this.  Los Angeles Kings forward Colin Fraser shoved Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews to the ice, and then Blackhawks defenseman Michal Rozsival essentially tackled Fraser.  After Kings forward Kyle Clifford slash Rozsival in the back of the head (a play that should be reviewed by Brendan Shanahan), Toews grabbed Clifford and the pushing and shoving began. Clifford is a tough guy that would have made quick work of Toews and armed with this knowledge, Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford stepped in and grabbed a hold of him.  Had the refs not been there to separate them almost immediately, this could have escalated to a full line brawl.  It did, after all, result in a stare down between the two goaltenders. After the game, both Toews and Crawford were interviewed and here is what they had to say: Jonathan Toews on Corey Crawford coming to his defense: “That was great. I was pretty much laughing.” #blackhawks — Adam Jahns (@adamjahns) June 3, 2013 Crawford on Clifford: "He got three shots in (on Toews). Figured it was enough. Just decided to go in there and grab his head." #Blackhawks — Tracey Myers (@TramyersCSN) June 3, 2013 [Video via: YouTube] [GIF via: @CJZero] [Photo via: @aaronward_nhl]

Junior Blackhawks reporter talks playoff beards (Video)

Joey the Junior [Chicago] Blackhawks reporter was back on the beat recently as he visited the team after one of their practices to discuss with the players the subject of their playoff beards. Among the tidbits that Joey was able to uncover with his "hard-hitting" questions is that everyone seems to agree that Jonathan Toews has the worst beard on the team. Video via...

Chicago Blackhawks vs. LA Kings game 2 preview

To be the champs you must beat the champs. The Chicago Blackhawks got off to a good start last night as they edged the reining Stanley Cup Champions 2-1 in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals at the United Center. Chicago leads the series 1-0 and the two teams will face off again tonight at 8 PM ET at the Mad House on Madison. The Presidents’ Trophy winners will need to play...

NHL Playoffs: Western conference finals preview

The Western Conference Finals matchup between the Chicago Blackhawks and Los Angeles Kings is now just a few hours away.  You would be hard pressed to find an expert or fan out there that doesn’t think this is destined to be a 6 or 7 game series.  Let’s take a closer look at why this should be one of the most exciting series we will see in the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Forwards...

Corey Crawford not going into the Osgood File

Not a lot of teams have had their goaltender head off to another team immediately after the team wins and Stanley Cup, but that was the situation the Chicago Blackhawks found themselves after Antti Niemi signed with the San Jose Sharks. There were a lot of fans (and writers!) who went into "What the heck are we going to do for a goalie?" mode. The goalie they had in the...

Jonathan Toews beard status: Bashful werewolf

Awww.. He thinks he's people!

Awesome Corey Crawford save

VIDEO: How 'bout Crow with this two-pad slide to save a goal?… — Chicago Blackhawks (@NHLBlackhawks) June 3, 2013 Going into the Stanley Cup Playoffs one of the question marks for the Chicago Blackhawks was the goaltending. I think the questions have been answered. This is the line for Chicago Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford...

Questionable Dustin Brown hits Western Conference Finals (Keith and Toews)

Does anyone see a pattern here at all? These are two hits from the Western Conference Finals. I know that the Chicago Blackhawks were not happy with Brown's hit on Jonathan Toews.  Luck for Duncan Keith that he fell and Brown was not able to make contact with him. I am being serious. Dustin Brown elbows Jason Pominville, this was right after his hit on Antoine Roussel. Dustin...

WATCH: Broken stick? No problem!

L.A. Kings defensman Slava Voynov gets the game winning tally of game 3 with a beautiful broken stick slap shot that just got by Chicago Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford. Like most broken stick slappers, the puck didn’t have near the velocity as a normal slap shot, however it was enough to sneak by Crawford and proved to be the goal that took down Chicago. Chicago still leads the...

Videos: Chicago Blackhawks push Kings around in Game 2

The Los Angeles Kings are reeling like a dazed prizefighter as the Chicago Blackhawks have taken a 2-0 Western Conference finals series lead. Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford shut down 29-of-31 shots Sunday. He was perfect in the first period stopping all 13 Kings attempts. On the other side of the ice, Kings goalie Jonathan Quick was turned out by Andrew Shaw and Brent Seabrook...

Slava Voynov scores goal while breaking stick against Blackhawks

Los Angeles Kings defenseman Slava Voynov saw a puck trickling through Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith’s legs in the 2nd period and stepped up to blast it past Corey Crawford.  Despite his stick shattering in half, his shot went past Crawford to extend the Kings lead to 2-0.  How the puck managed to get to the net when his stick broke in half is ridiculous.  There...

Look What Else Chicago Is Doing

At this point in the playoffs the Chicago Blackhawks have to be the favorite to win the Stanley Cup.  They won the Presidents Trophy and are up two games to none against Los Angeles.  The earlier Stanley Cup favorite the Pittsburgh Penguins are two games behind the Boston Bruins.  With the success of their Stanley Cup run, it would be easy to imagine that is all the Chicago Blackhawks...

Kings Drop Game 1 To Blackhawks, Look To Bounce Back Tomorrow

The National Hockey League Conference Finals are officially under way as of today. The Boston Bruins (8-3-1) were able to take Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals over the Pittsburgh Penguins (8-2-1) by a final score of 3-0. Earlier in the day though, the Western Conference Finals saw the Los Angeles Kings (8-4-2) fall to the Chicago Blackhawks (9-3-1) 2-1, in a less than exciting...
