Like lots of people out there, I did a ton of really stupid things in college. Lucky for me, it was all relatively harmless (thank goodness) and hasn't really come back to haunt me (too much). Such is not the case for Indianapolis Colts running back Delone Carter.
On Friday a jury decided to award an individual that Carter punched back during his Syracuse days a whopping $40,000 for pain and suffering as well as out-of-pocket medical costs--all for one punch.
Yes, I know--it must have been a heck of a punch!
It all happened one fateful night in February 2010. Carter thought that William Hotaling threw a snowball at his SUV as it drove by. When he stopped to confront Hotaling he punched him once knocking him out cold. An unconscious Hotaling fell back, hitting his head on the concrete....
