Dallas Mavericks star forward Dirk Nowitzki is not used to not being in the playoffs, and now he’s putting his money where his mouth is, in order to help his organization get back to championship contention. According to the Dallas Morning News, Nowitzki told a local radio in Dallas this week that part of his pitch to free agents Chris Paul and Dwight Howard is that “he’d be willing to take a pay cut after his current deal expires in order to make cap room and add more talent.” “I think I’ll sign another deal, 2-3 years, I’m not sure,” Nowitzki added. Nowitzki was then asked which one of the two stars he’d prefer to play with. “They’re both dominant in their own way” Nowitzki said. “That’s a tough choice. I’d be happy with either one, to be honest.” Howard; “Offensively, I think he looked great the last couple months of the season,” Nowitzki said. “He started off a little sluggish there with his back surgery, but at the end he was finishing and was above the rim ag

Nowitzki Willing To Take Paycut, Doesn't Have Ideal Salary In Mind

Dirk Nowitzki will take a pay cut in order to clear cap space for the Dallas Mavericks’ free agent pursuit of Dwight Howard or Chris Paul. Nowitzki was asked if he has a number in mind. “Not really. We’ll cross that bridge when we get there,” Nowitzki said. “It kind of depends on what team we can get, too. I’ve always said that (Mark) Cuban has taken care of me for a...

Hawks caught tampering Dwight Howard, Chris Paul?

Atlanta is expected to have somewhere near $35 million in cap space available to it this summer.
