When last we heard from Al Groh he was the defensive coordinator at Georgia Tech and he was being pink slipped.
When Groh was fired or “relieved of his duties” on October 8th the Yellow Jackets were 2-4 and coming off their third straight loss and third straight game giving up 40 or more points.
Those results will get you canned however Groh spoke to the Roanoke Times and Groh spoke rather candidly about his brief Georgia Tech tenure.
"Just to say it briefly, this circumstance here was the most unprofessional, divisive and negative environment in which I've ever been," Groh said. "To say more would be unprofessional of myself.
"It was just a bad cultural match."
In other words it was a bad marriage and an even worse break up.

This is pretty bad, you could see from his hesitation in signaling that he wasn’t sure whether it went in or not. Thankfully they went back and reviewed it and got the call corrected. Unfortunately for USC, things didn’t much better and they were absolute embarrassed by Georgia Tech 21-7.[YouTube]

Howard (18 rebounds) and Toles (10 assists) both finished with 18 points.
Georgia Tech (7-6) took a 45-38 lead into halftime behind a 58 percent (20 of 34) first-half...

Days like this make sports so much fun. Lots of ramifications for both programs and also for the ACC, that hasn’t had many days where their...
Georgia Tech finished the 2012 season with an impressive win over Southern California 21-7. We talked to some of the recruits in the 2013 class, that have made their verbal commit to Georgia Tech, to get their thoughts on the win.
Georgia Tech’s Rod Sweeting apparently doesn't get on television much. He won the MVP award in the Sun Bowl against USC and the first word out of his mouth was '****'. Very classy rod. At least he regrouped and thanked his coach after the mess up.

CBS' Tracy Wolfson asked Georgia Tech's Rod Sweeting how they held the USC offense to 7 points in the Hyundai Sun Bowl. "****, I I I..." was the cornerback's reply.
