Long before the New York Jets finished last season with a 6-10 record there was speculation about the future of quarterback/personal protector Tim Tebow. Once the Jets drafted Geno Smith our of West Virginia, the worst (for anyone not named Tim Tebow, that is) was all but confirmed. In a move that surprised no one, and freed the Jets of a $2.6 million dollar cap hit, Tebow was released on Monday. The former fourth-quarter Denver stud turned NY Jets dud has cleared waivers and is a free agent, awaiting a call, and a chance to rejuvenate his career. Those chances may be tough to come across. According to NFL.com the number of teams that are interested in Tebow has dwindled in recent days, and a prospective list of employers looks to be limited to the Browns, Patriots, Raiders and Redskins.  We can be sure Tebow would almost never see the field if he played for the Patriots or Redskins, as both teams employ elite quarterbacks. Honestly, riding the pine for either of those teams might be better than actually playing for the Browns or Raiders. Of course if no NFL suitors come along before the kickoff of the 2013-2014 season, he could follow the example of Terrell Owens and play for an indoor football team. According to the Omaha Beef team website, the CPIFL club has contacted Tebow’s agent to offer him the whopping standard $75-per-game contract. Tebow is still holding out hope that he will be signed to an NFL team sometime this off season, at the very least as a backup quarterback. He is still reluctant to change positions, but according to former NFL quarterback Donovan McNabb in an interview with NFL Total Access, Tebow likely wouldn’t cut it as a tight end or fullback either. “Tim Tebow is not a talented athlete who can do other things”,  Donovan continues, ”[Tebow]is not a guy, look, if I am playing basketball, on the weekend, with the fellas, he’s not one of my first picks”. Ouch. The post Free Agent QB Tim Tebow Has A Few Sad Options appeared first on Last Angry Fan.
