The Padres dominance of the National League continued at Petco Park this week when they swept the defending League and World Series champion Cardinals. Logan Forsythe was outstanding over the series, getting five hits, a homer and four runs batted in, raising his average five points to .289. The Padres are now 6.5 games out of the final Wild Card spot with 18 games left on the schedule. They also are now only six games below .500 after falling behind 21 games below in early June. The Friars will enjoy a day off while the Rockies fly in to start a three game series on Friday.
