The hearts of the Bulldog Nation are collectively heavy tonight as we mourn the passing of the legendary Larry Munson.

Munson was the play-by-play announcer for Georgia football for more than 40-years and, as a longtime fan, I can tell you that I was deeply saddened when he stepped down from the radio booth in 2008.

While his replacement, Scott Howard, has done a fine job, there will only ever be one Larry Munson–one true "voice".

Ask any Bulldog fan to name their favorite Munson call and you'll likely get a plethora of calls to choose from–my personal favorite is still "Run, Lindsey"–but it wasn't so much the call as it was the delivery and the passion of the man giving them that made them all so great.

Munson was much more than a broadcaster, he was a true Dawg fan–unapologetically so–and that made his calls that much more special to those of us who tuned in to hear him make them each Saturday.

My deepest condolences go out to his loved ones and friends as they lost a man of true honor and integrity–one whom will never be forgotten.

He was one Damn Good Dawg and he will be missed.
