Ever since Vlade Divac first began throwing his large, hairy, Yugoslavian body to the court in the late 1980s, flopping has more and more developed into a sad yet integral part of the NBA game. Since then, players have elevated the move and the flop has evolved from a cheap way to get a foul called on an opponent into something of an art form, graceful in its clumsiness, almost theatrical in its intentional ham-handedness. This season, the NBA attempted to bring the hammer down on the worst violators and the most egregious offenses in the name of the Art of the Flop, imposing a new set of laws that at first warned players for initial violations but ultimately fined those who continued to run afoul of the new rules. To date, the NBA has imposed $25,000 in total fines on five players who have received two infractions each. In total, according to an SI report, the league has assessed 24 flopping violations to 19 different players on 13 different teams. Considering its role as a time-ho...

This is a rematch of last year’s series between the Clippers and the Grizzlies.  In Game 1, the Grizzlies were all over the Clippers until LA came back from 26 points to win the game.  It was a miraculous comeback.  The Clipps ended up taking the series in seven games.  This year, the Grizzlies look for revenge. Caron Butler on Charles Barkley Calling Clippers Soft: “That was a Slap in the Face”

You would think people would learn to take any comments Charles Barkley makes with a grain of salt by now. He’s wrong half the time anyway. Barkley, who is an analyst on TNT’s “Inside the NBA,” has said on many occasions that he doesn’t see the Los Angeles Clippers as true title contenders because they have “no toughness.” Well, Los Angeles Clippers forward Caron...

Kings lose to the Clippers 112-108

Normally I'd break down the game, and what went right, wrong etc, etc etc. Who cares? Tonight was about the end of an era, and barring a really stupid decision by the Board of Governors in New York a couple of weeks from now, perhaps the last game ever in Sacramento. You know what? I don't care. There was the game and here is the boxscore. Have fun with it. ...

And with NBA owners still deciding whether to approve the sale and relocation of the Kings to Seattle...
