I want a team that wants to be winners. Not for the fans, but for the sacrifices they've made and asked their families to make.

I want a team that comes to O.T.A.'s with a solid grasp of what they're doing. That comes to Training Camp with all their concepts locked in, and is there MERELY to burn excess fat from the roster.

I want preseason games where starters play no less than a quarter in EACH GAME. (There's a LIST of reasons for this.)

I want a season where the players and the staff are focused on winning the division.

Regardless of the result this is what EVERY SEASON should be like, regardless of the coach, or ownership.

  • I WANT to see a Super Bowl parade down Broad Street. I WANT the players and coaches in here capable of providing that moment. I don't wish to waste any more time on players and coaches I know can't get that done.
  • If a team does not or cannot deliver on the preparatory things I ask, they will not and cannot deliver on the result that you ask.
  • Sure they can. They can start by removing the privileged mentality of some of these players by forcing them to earn their roster spots rather than just giving it to them. That is a foundation to building a championship team. They are doing this and I'm actually very pleased with how things have been going. Judging by how the most privileged players on the roster so far are the ones who have been crying the most means it has been working.
  • Fine.

Say they scrap the roster. What are the preparatory things a good team must do before Week One?
  • Why are you worrying about week one of the season when they aren't even at training camp yet? Do not teams have to game plan other teams every week? I mean the idea of worrying about Week 1 of the season in June makes little to no sense.
  • No one is. This all PRIOR to that. You know: That place where we actually are now?

But since you missed my question, I'll ask it again:

Say they scrap the roster. What are the preparatory things a good team must do LEADING UP TO THE SEASON?
(There. I even rephrased it for you.)

  • First of all this isn't a good team. They must fist find,
draft, sign, and develop good players. They need fundamentals
which this team lacks. You need discipline which this team
lacks. Scheming and game planning do not matter if the
team can't tackle, can't block, or protect the football.
This team needs the basics. Stop assuming this is a good
football team, because it isn't. Stop assuming Chip Kelly
is going to make them a bad team, because they already are.
This entire season will be built on teaching new systems
and hopefully developing the young talent. If you think
this team is good and that Chip Kelly is somehow holding them back then you haven't been watching them the past two seasons.
  • This isn't a good team? You mean 4-12 is a BAD RECORD??!!
    Clutch the pearls!

Everything I list in my post IS a fundamental. I know it is because I PLAYED THIS SPORT. (Yup I'm rolling that old chestnut out. Chew on it.) So yeah that mean I know WAAAAAY more than you do, as you make evident when you scrawl junk like your last reply. Honestly, you sound like one of those chicks in a bar who only knows what her last "boyfriend" TOLD HER about the sport. Girl, I don't know whether to argue with you or bring home to my woman and f*** you.

I list coaching and organizational fundamentals. As in the coaches who have to set the example FIRST. You know, the people responsible for teaching DRILLS, like blocking and tackling. Those DRILLS by the way, you can look REALLY good at in practice and then blow in a game.

  • The EZ cop out. They are a bad orgsanization EZ. What does the whole Eagle organziation need to do to get better? This is a core problem. The Philadelphia Eagles are broke from the top down. The mentality needs fixing. Which means more losses will only reinforce that they cant win. Winning should always be the only goal. Copping out makes you look bad EZ
  • I can't wait to read how flip agrees with you on this one.
  • The organization (as a money maker) is fine. From Roseman on down though they could use an enema in some places.

Everywhere else though you nail it.

As for our EZ bar chick, for all her Kelly blowing, she can't offer a legit EXCUSE for why The Messiah (more like the MessYeah) kept so MANY privileged players on his roster.

These guys got Reid canned right? They suck right? Kelly seems to disagree with EZ, but admitting it would just get her ripping his posters off the wall and irritating suicide hotlines who eventually will just end up telling her "JUST DO IT ALREADY!"

How EZ manages to keep her mind off all that smegma, she's consuming is beyond me, but more power to her right?
