The new York Jets have placed wide receiver Santonio Holmes on the PUP list as he continued to recover from Lisfranc surgery. The Jets have placed WR Santonio Holmes on the PUP list. Tone is eligible to come off of the PUP once he's medically cleared to practice. — Eric Allen (@eallenjets) July 24, 2013 Holmes recently couldn’t tell the New York Daily News when he’ll be back on the field. “I don’t have a target date,” said Holmes at uSTADIUM’s Flags for Foundations flag football tournament on Roosevelt Island Saturday. “I don’t want to do anything to jeopardize myself being ready for the season.” It didn’t sound like Holmes had done anything close to running fly routes at full speed. The veteran wide receiver said he’s been running on a non-weight bearing treadmill at least three times per week. He’s done minimal football activities, “but it’s only to the extent that the trainers want to see the movements,” he said. “It’s just getting back into the swing of walking and running without any pains from having scar tissue build up around the injury,” said Holmes. “It’s really difficult to learn how to walk again. To do so much balance work, you don’t realize what you have until it’s gone. To lose a ligament and have separation in your joints, have screws placed in.” With both Holmes and Stephen Hill recovering from injuries, the best receiver the Jets have that’s healthy is Jeremy Kerley.     Need NFL Tickets? Rex Ryan “I Don’t Give a S*** About Last Year”

It looks like the bright lights of the New York media are starting to heat up not only Rex Ryan’s seat but his temper as well. In Ryan’s first two seasons in New York he reached the AFC championship. He has yet to have a winning season since then. The Jets haven’t given fans much to be excited about in the last couple of seasons and I’m sure Rex Ryan is tired of the being...

Marty Mornhinweg likes how well Geno Smith has progressed

The biggest question right now for the New York Jets is who will their starting quarterback be for the upcoming season.  Many people believe it will be Mark Sanchez.   Jets offensive coordinator Mary Mornhinweg seems very encouraged with how well rookie Geno Smith has progressed. “I will say this… I know this: He’s way ahead of the pace of a normal rookie,” Mornhinweg told...

Jets place RB Mike Goodson on 'Did not report' list

The Jets announced Thursday that they had placed running back Mike Goodson on the reserve/did not report list but his absence from training camp doesn't seem to have surprised the team. Said coach Rex Ryan in a statement: “We knew Mike was not going to report and we understand why he's not here.” Which doesn't give us much indication of what the problem is (though...

Braylon Edwards re-signs with NY Jets

John Idzik has heard the calls of Gang Green Nation — Braylon Edwards will be suiting up for the Jets during training camp after signing a one-year deal with the team according to a source. Edwards will provide much-needed experience for a largely unproven receiving corps with subpar talent. The veteran wide receiver was brought back to New York midseason last year after having...

Laughland: Jets should turn to Geno Smith

After fumbling away the starting quarterback job in 2012, embattled veteran Mark Sanchez doesn't deserve to start for the New York Jets this upcoming season. Find out why rookie Geno Smith should get the nod from Rex Ryan in 2013.

Jets officially sign Braylon Edwards

After joining the New York Jets for the final three games of the 2012 season, wide receiver Braylon Edwards is back in the fold and could be a key impetus for a battered and bruised receiving unit.

The Jets continue to make their feelings on Santonio Holmes apparent. The team renewed their one-year commitment with 30-year-old wide out Braylon Edwards today. Edwards played with the team in 2012, but only started in 3 games, catching 10 passes for 125 yards. #Jets sign 30-yo WR Braylon Edwards to a one-year deal. — NFL Mind (@NFLMind) July 25, 2013 Braylon Edwards has become...
