The Royals may be struggling on the field, but as far as in-game promotions go, they're league leaders.
Kansas City gave out mini pine tar bats before Sunday's game against the Yankees in honor of George Brett's memorable pine tar incident many years ago. The small bats were painted to give the appearance that they had pine tar way up the handle, mimicking the famous bat Brett used to hit a home run against the Yankees in 1983.
