Ladies and gentlemen, Beast Mode is in the building. Marshawn Lynch showed up to Super Bowl XLVIII wearing a sweatshirt bearing his alter ego.
Former Seattle Seahawks linebacker Brian Bosworth sent an email to USA TODAY Sports following the Seahawks 48-3 Super Bowl victory over the Denver Broncos. “As you can see the dominant performance by them was evident due to their complete focus upon the ‘MISSION,’” Bosworth wrote in an email on Tuesday. “The type of players Seattle have and especially on DEFENSE makes...
Sure, Marshawn Lynch captivated everyone last night with his phenomenal postgame locker room dancing, but the real show was actually Seattle’s general manager, 42-year-old John Schneider. Schneider managed to get his hands on a nice WWE Championship Belt, and paraded around the locker room in it while flexing — shirtless, of course.

Score one for the strategic throwbacks. All season long, the Seahawks have bucked the increasingly pass-heavy trend of the modern NFL in favor of an old school approach: stifling defense, run-first offense, and physical to the bone in all phases of the game. Just a typical kneejerk, conservative, play-it-safe game plan from a stubborn old defensive coach, right?
