It has been awhile since the Oakland Raiders have had a quarterback that they could believe in. They definitely hope that Matt Flynn could be that guy, and so far he is looking to be everything the Raiders Nation has wanted and more. Take his performance against the New Orleans Saints Friday night--12 for 16, 124 yards, and one touchdown (check out the TD to Denarius Moore below). Not bad right? Now if only he wasn't sacked five times... @hoopgifs/Twitter

Oakland Raiders Have Big Problems At Quarterback

If any team can make the New York Jets‘ current quarterback situation look good—or at least not so hideous—its the Oakland Raiders. Rookie QB Tyler Wilson went just three-of-six for 28 yards in last week’s preseason opener and has been struggling mightily with the mental side of the game. The fourth round selection (No. 112 overall) fell behind undrafted free agent Matt McGloin...

Matt Flynn was sacked five times in the first half

Oakland Raiders quarterback Matt Flynn was sacked five times in the first half of Friday night’s preseason game against the Saints. It was a terrible night a Raiders offensive line that’s clearly reeling from the loss of Jared Veldheer, the starting left tackle who underwent surgery Friday to repair a torn triceps muscle. Alex Barron is clearly not the answer as Veldheer’s...

Former LSU hero returns to Superdome to face Saints

LSU fans cheering on the Saints Friday night will see a familiar face on the field, although they'll have to adjust to his black and silver uniform, instead of purple and gold. Although first string quarterbacks don't usually play much in the second game of the preseason, Raiders quarterback Matt Flynn will soak up every moment inside the Superdome, as he tries to both...

Raiders vs Saints: the good, the bad, and the ugly

The Good Matt Flynn didn’t look likely to make the good section from the way he started as the team was unable to get any rhythm, offensively, and after having a few hits and sacks, Flynn’s internal clock to throw the ball was drastically accelerated and he would throw the ball within 3 seconds or so whether or not pressure was bearing down on him because he trust he’d...

Oakland Raiders: 2013 Game-by-Game Predictions

With the quarterback controversy in Oakland, it looks as if Matt Flynn will be the starter in the upcoming season. The Raiders' offensive line wasn't impressive at all in their second preseason game -- Flynn was sacked five times in just one half in the Raiders' loss to the New Orleans Saints.Questions will arise to how the Raiders will handle even tougher defenses, as...

Raiders mum on starting QB

The Oakland Raiders are gradually solidifying their starting lineup for the season opener. They aren't quite ready to announce their starting quarterback. Coach Dennis Allen said Monday he will not say whether Terrelle Pryor or Matt Flynn will start the season opener at Indianapolis until game time for ''competitive'' reasons. Allen has announced starters at...

After another abysmal outing, it’s clear the Oakland Raiders should use Terrelle Pryor as a wide receiver

Battling rookie Tyler Wilson and expected starter Matt Flynn for time under center, Terrelle Pryor struggled in a 28-20 loss to the Saints on Friday night in New Orleans. Taken out of Ohio State by the Raiders in the third round of the 2011 Supplemental Draft, the 24-year-old Pryor completed 1-of-5 attempts for nine yards and again proved incapable of throwing with any velocity or...

Saints Nation: Five Things to Look for with Raiders at Saints

Preseason, game 2, happening tonight in the Superdome as the Saints host the Raiders. This will should be interesting as former LSU star Matt Flynn will lead what appears to be another sub standard Raiders team. The Saints are incredibly banged up at the moment so lots of backups will get significant reps and opportunity to showcase what they can do. For those healthy this is a great...
