Angels’ outfielder Mike Trout has been selected as the starting left fielder for the American League All-Star team, becoming the youngest Halos’ starter in history.
Just another milestone in Trout’s young career as he was destined to make an appearance in New York. This will be his second All-Star game in as many Major League seasons as Trout played in last year’s All-Star game where he collected a hit and a stolen base against NL Cy Young winner R.A. Dickey.
The 21-year-old is the only Angels player to make the roster this season, after four Halos were selected last season. Many thought second baseman Howie Kendrick would have a solid chance at at least making the Final Vote ballot, but that is unfortunately not the case.

BEST OF MAXIM
While the Los Angeles Angels struggled through much of the early portion of this season, so too did Mike Trout.
Last year’s rookie sensation was hitting just .261 a month into this season — not terrible, but nowhere near the eye-popping totals he put in 2012. He has rebounded, though, and enters this weekend’s series with the Red Sox as the team leader in on-base percentage...
WHAT AN HONOR
Jered Weaver and his wife had their first child, and the two named their baby after Weaver's late Angels teammate, Nick Adenhart.
The Los Angeles Angels are making a hard push to the top of the standings, or at least back to relevancy after winning nine of their past 11 games to get into within three games .500.
This current hot streak, which we have all heard about their streaks before, just seems to be different as they are coming from behind

The catching position for the Los Angeles Angels solely belonged to Chris Iannetta to begin the 2013 season.
However, over the past couple weeks Iannetta has been splitting time with Hank Conger. Conger, a former first round draft pick, has been impressive of late batting .290 over his past 10 games.

To say the Angels' season has been a rollercoaster ride thus far would be an understatement.
Indeed, there are few other ways to describe an eight game win streak snapped by a Houston Astros sweep. This was followed up by what optimists would describe as a "mediocre showing," where the team won only eight out of the next eighteen. However, the slump was shattered...
