PLAYERS: Milan Lucic
TEAMS: Boston Bruins
When Milan Lucic is playing demonstrably, he’s playing like a monster. This usage of “demonstrable” is the one that refers to keeping your emotions on your sleeve, and what it means in terms of Lucic is that when he plays aggressive, he’s at his most effective. During the first period the Bruins failed to score, but Lucic made a couple heads-up plays that led to some opportunities — and they were the result of Lucic playing with passion. Check out the breakdown in the video above courtesy of the Amica Coverage Cam.

Chiarelli, Tear Down This Third Line!

The Bruins third line has struggled at time this season. The shaky ways of the line started with Chris Bourque. In 18 games Bourque had 1 goal and 3 assists. Caron was called up and the out look was bright for the line. Caron quickly stepped in, tallied an assists, and looked like he was supposed to be there. Kelly looked like he was improving, he even scored a goal, it's suprising...

Anton Khudobin Bails Bruins Out, Continues to Be Part of Stellar Goaltending Combination

The Bruins went to the dressing after 20 minutes Thursday in Ottawa locked up in a scoreless tie with the Senators. They were lucky to be able to do that, and they really have one person to thank for that, and that’s goaltender Anton Khudobin. Boston was sloppy for much of the first period, but Khudobin bailed them out, particularly in the final minute. The backup goaltender, who...

Luck On Their Seid: Bruins Steal One From Sens With Late Goal

Tyler Seguin reacts to the game-winning goal from Dennis Seidenberg with just 1:04 remaining in the game. Big win. Bigger goals. The Senators outplayed the Bruins for much of the game, but it was a gift goal to tie it and a seeing-eye shot from the point that led to a 2-1, come-from-behind win for the B’s. Both goals came in the final minute of the second and third periods, respectively...

Bruins Will Take Ugly Win Over Senators, But Boston Still Has Plenty of Room for Improvement

Luckily for the Bruins, style points aren’t taken into account when sorting out the standings. If they were, the B’s might be in trouble. But those aren’t the points that matter. The only points that mean anything that are the ones that teams get for wins, and on Thursday night, the B’s got two very important points. Boston was able to avoid losing three straight by beating...

Bruins-Senators Live: B’s, Senators Meet Once Again in Ottawa With Northeast Race Tightening

8 a.m. ET: When you look at the way things were going just about a month ago, you’d probably be surprised to find out that Thursday’s Bruins-Senators game in Ottawa would mean much of anything. Improbably, despite Boston’s hot start and the Sens’ mounting injury concerns, Thursday night’s tussle between Northeast Division rivals is actually a pretty big game for both teams...

Missing Bobby Orr One of Biggest Regrets for New Generation of ‘Spoiled’ Boston Sports Fans

Boston sports fans, especially those of the younger generations, have been extremely spoiled in the last decade or so. There’s a group of young sports fans across New England who are growing up thinking championship parades through the city are rites of passage. For that, the younger group of Boston sports fans has appropriately been leveled with the label “spoiled,” and that’s...

Will Peter Chiarelli get anything done at the GM meetings?

Peter Chiarelli will be schmoozing with the other NHL general managers this week trying to get a deal done The Boston Bruins’ Tuesday night loss to Atlanta highlighted a disturbing trend for the Bruins, one that sees them blowing leads in the third period and even failing to pick up points. When this is happening against teams like Pittsburgh and Montreal, two of the higher ranked...

Darth Quaider out 3-4 weeks

We knew injuries in a condensed schedule like this was bound to happen but damn does it suck when it comes all at once. First Chris Kelly went down with a busted tibia, then David Krejci almost got a puck-sized hole blown through his knee. And then last night we saw Adam McQuaid go head first into the boards... again. Happens twice a year. Now it's being reported that...

Adam McQuaid Has Shoulder Strain, May Miss 3-4 Weeks

The Bruins’ injury issues continued Tuesday night and right into Wednesday. B’s general manager Peter Chiarelli announced Wednesday that defenseman Adam McQuaid has a strained right shoulder, and the defenseman could be out 3-4 weeks. McQuaid left Tuesday’s loss to the Winnipeg Jets in the first period after he was checked by Winnipeg winger Eric Tangradi. The hit sent McQuaid...

Desperate to Find the Next Gear

"Desperation is the raw material of drastic change. Only those who can leave behind everything they have ever believed in Can hope to escape."  - William S. Burroughs  Folks, let's be honest here. The game was over when Wheeler tied it up last night. You knew it. I knew it. And this fact raises an ego-shattering question in the collective heart of Boston...

Cam Neely, Jeremy Roenick Recalled Fondly by NHL Players Remembering NHL 94 (Video)

If you grew up in the 90s and/or played video games in the 90s, there’s a good chance the unmistakable sound of a slap shot and a whining goal siren are music to your ears. That familiar chorus, of course, belonged to NHL 94, one of the most influential hockey (or sports) video games in the history of gaming. The good people at EA Sports revolutionized hockey video games with that...

RECAP: Blow Lead in the Third? It's Called Bruins. Bruins Lose.

Yikes. Yikes. Yikes. Bruins lose three on the road for first time this season and have done it by blowing leads in the third period. Like we said, yikes. At the moment the Bruins have no killer instinct when they get the lead. There's no putting teams out of their misery. At the moment the Bruins are getting leads and sitting on them like a mother hen waiting...
