Half of the Pirates eight affiliates have now seen their season end with Bradenton playing their last game on Sunday afternoon. Three more teams will see their regular season end today, with only Jamestown having more games left. Indianapolis and West Virginia will each start their playoffs on Wednesday, while Jamestown still has a chance to win the NYPL Wildcard spot. Heredia threw five shutout innings in each of the last two times out (Photo Credit: Robin Black) AAA: Indianapolis (80-63) vs Louisville (68-75) 1:05pm Probable starter: Andy Oliver (5-4, 4.18) Yesterday’s Result: Louisville 3, Indianapolis 0 Andy Oliver will make his 24th start of the season. He has also pitched five times in relief. Oliver will be going on short rest, so his pitch count might be limited. He has thrown a total of 120.2 innings, allowing 97 hits, six homers and 111 walks. Oliver has 131 strikeouts, a 1.26 GO/AO ratio and a .222 BAA. In his last start, he went five innings, giving up two runs on three hits and four walks, while striking out eight batters. AA: Altoona (63-78) vs Akron (67-72) 12:00pm Probable starter: Eliecer Navarro (4-7, 4.34) Yesterday’s Result: Altoona 8, Akron 3 Eliecer Navarro will get his 15th start for Altoona today. He also made 11 starts and two relief appearances for Bradenton. On the year, he has thrown a total of 144 innings, giving up 136 hits, 12 homers and 37 walks. He has 117 strikeouts, an 0.69 GO/AO ratio and a .243 BAA. In his last start, he went 5.2 innings, giving up four runs(two earned) on ten hits and two walks. Since the All-Star break, he has a 3.59 ERA in ten starts. High-A: Bradenton (57-77 overall, 31-35 2nd half) Yesterday’s Result: Ft Myers 3, Bradenton 2 in 10 innings The Bradenton Marauders season is over. They finished seven games back for the second half title and 21.5 games back in the overall standings. Alen Hanson led the team with a .281 batting average among regulars. Willy Garcia led the team with 16 homers and 60 RBI’s. Benji Gonzalez led with 27 steals. Hanson and Gregory Polanco each had 24 stolen bases. Nick Kingham and Zack Dodson led with six wins among pitchers. Adrian Sampson led with 85 strikeouts and 140 innings pitched. Low-A: West Virginia (81-58 overall, 44-25 2nd half) @ Lexington (68-69) 12:05pm Probable starter: Luis Heredia (6-3, 2.85) Yesterday’s Result: West Virginia 4, Lexington 3 (game one) West Virginia 1, Lexington 0 (game two) Luis Heredia will make his 14th appearance of the season. He has thrown 60 innings, allowing 46 hits, five homers and 34 walks. He has 50 strikeouts, an 0.83 GO/AO ratio and a .217 BAA. In his last start, he went five shutout innings, allowing five hits and three walks. Heredia has thrown five shutout innings in four of his last five games. He faced Lexington on July 28th, giving up three runs on four hits and three walks in 4.2 innings.
