The New York Post is reporting that John Mara, the nephew of New York Giants owner and president John Mara, almost beat a man to death on New Years Eve.
Mara allegedly beat a man in the head with a bottle at a Fairfield University party being held in a luxury beach house. Reports say that a doctor told the victim of the brutal attack, that if he hadn’t made it to a hospital, he would have died.
“There were some side effects,” the source said. “They had to operate.”
Mara was charged with first-degree assault and breach of peace. He was released on $150,000 bond and ordered to return to court March 8.
John Mara’s father, Frank, works as vice president of community relations for the NFL team, and declined to comment when reached at home.
