image from: nba.com The Brooklyn Nets are certainly in a “win now” type of mode after getting Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Jason Terry from the Celtics to help their already solid core of Deron Williams, Brook Lopez, and Joe Johnson win a championship. Their GM Billy King recently reiterated this at Duke University, where the team is holding training camp. Via Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN New York:  “Now, this is the window — this season,” the Nets’ general manager said Wednesday at Duke University, where the team is holding its training camp. “We’re going to see what we can do with this season, and then we’ll see what next season brings.” The attitude certainly makes sense for this team since Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Jason terry are all in the twilight years of their careers. They aren’t going to be around much longer and if they can’t win it all this year, then there is good reason to believe that they won’t get it done at all since next season they will just have even more mileage on them. I like the changes the Nets have made, and I think they have  greatly upped their odds at a winning a championship, but I do agree that they can’t be thinking about next season or the season after that. They have to think in the now and nothing beyond that. Fortunately for them, Garnett, Pierce, and Terry understand this, and also are used to making the most of new situations (I think Pierce and Garnett winning a title their first year together is a good example of this). I don’t know if I see the Nets getting it done, but I do agree with King that this season is probably their best shot. —Ben Parker: follow me on twitter @nba_lord  The post Nets GM: “Window To Win A Title Is This Season” appeared first on Pass The Pill - Kings of Hoops.
